Rauvinwatch Keep

Post by Rick7475 »

The powerful Argent Legion calls nowhere but Rauvinwatch Keep it's stronghold and headquarters, and here they are led under the command of Alustriel’s son, High Marshal Methrammer Aerasum’e. A garrison of 400 militia and heavy cavalry keep watch over the Rauvin River guarding the Silver Marches' Captial, Silverymoon. The military headquarters is well protected on either side by high cliffs, a moat, the river, and impassable rocky foothills.

In the shadow of the powerful Argent Legion, the Mission of Ilmater stands as a haven for those whom life has done no favors to. It was said quite famously by one of the infamous Volothamp Geddarm's many bardic disciples-in-purpose that "The Mission of Ilmater of Rauvinwatch Keep is the soul of the body formed by the powerful union of the Shimmerholm and the Legion. And what a beautiful soul of charity it is." Indeed, it is quite as described; the Mission is an icon of Rauvinwatch Keep, and the temple enjoys unending support in both laity and donations from merchants, citizens and travelers alike. The long-standing traditions of the Mission, as well as the fierceness with which their Order of the Broken One has defended the people, has earned the Mission a place few temples of Ilmater anywhere enjoy; one of celebrated humility.

Of course, everything isn't always rosy-hued, and Rauvinwatch Keep has its less desirable elements without a doubt. The Last Chance Tavern stands as an element many folk would like to see expunged, as it is quite brazenly a house of whores, debauchery and lustful reprobation, but there it always is, with it's doors open every day and night, attracting soldiers in particular to it's barely restrained revelry.

Here, you can see the Ilmater Mission in the Lower Bailey on the right. Also, the Last Chance Tavern on the side near the entrance.

Here is the Upper Bailey, where the soldiers have their barracks and mess halls, and the military commanders have their councils.

You keep blowing me away Rick. That is magic. And what a *vast* improvement. This feels like elchip taking over Waterdeep all over again...it's gone to the right person. Very happy indeed.
