NWN1: 1.68 bugged VFX fix

Post by Veilan »

Not that it's overly important, but I stumbled over this...

http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Mo ... ail&id=382

That would fix that the VFX (cloak, quiver, swords, axes etc.) ALFA uses are bugged since 1.68 yes?

Maybe could be considered if we add content to NWN 1 again, among the remaining servers.

I haven't tested it and I'm about to go to bed, just thought I'd toss it in.

Since it can be added as an override, or so it claims, there would be no need to wait for a hak update. Everyone just download the file and place it in your override folder.

Hm, I don't think adding an override then running around with a sword through your belly on everyone else's screen is going to cut it...

While a hak update would be lovely, there is no eta on this happening because at present no one has stepped up to help with NWN tech besides me. I have never editted haks thus will have to learn from scratch how to do anything. If simply downloading an override will fix this annoying vfx bug, I am sure we can count on our members to do so for the time being.

Btw...override has been tested and does work. If some helpful Admin or forum mod would put the link and brief instructions in an announcement and add the override file to the required hak list that would be great.

Does the override conflict with the (relatively) new cloaks? I recall that the presence of any overrides stopped them working properly. Mind you, I suppose individual players can choose which they prefer.

Pinned up this thread as an announcement. Twiggy, adding the model to our HAKs is a trivial exercise so if you'd like to attempt it, let me know.

fyi: it has no effect on Halfling males. Jumping still causes backpacks to become belts, and swords epaulettes.
