My pc had one tech res and one IC res. She had to justify why she wanted to return to the living world to a paladin of Kelemvor too. Dying totally changed her and she has never died IC since (although come close... never ever drink and play! )

I have resurrected people as the priests in Shadowdale and I always ask for justification. I have also refused IC to resurrect.

Usually once. If I do it twice within too short of a period, my prostate really starts to sting. Not to mention I usually feel guilty afterwards and not in the mood for another.

1 time per char for me.

Dorn died once at the end of third with a rez, was freaked out for a while and then wanted to kill anything werewolfy from then on with uber hate. Second time he was taken to temple and i refused rez. Wanted to go hang with uthgar drinking and bashing stuff too much:)

I like the idea of only being rezzed once. Maybe 2 with strong IC reason, ie them devoted to their gods work very seriously so god turns them back to continue. Of course this depends on the god/race who might like returning people. I dont pretend to know enough about FR gods and rezzing to know if this is a right attitude to have or not. Just my thought.

The one thing i never known about is how to react after a rez. I've seen everything from 'phew that was close, here's some gold then we can go for an ale then hit a spawn i feel fantastic but a bit weaker', to someone not being able to speak for almost a RL month, to someones entire demenour changing. Is there any general effects that should be RPed out? or is it each to their own and the effects are their lesser ability in battle/loss of spells lost due to the level drop?

I dont think there is a right way. From all the books of tsr and now woc we have characters that reactions range like this.
horror at the experience and for what happens when they die again.
regreat for coming back.
anger at being killed and take it out on the nearest person.
tired.
no reaction at all...wasnt dead long enough.
loss of being braught back but knowing they are not finished yet.
new hope.

These are just some of the examples from the books that the realms are based on. Some of these character's both good and evil have been raised dozen of times.
