Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
A rumour flows that the warrior known as Dawn has fallen. She was found by a party in the sewers...
She was brought up and paid last respects, to be interred respectfully.

Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
Some off duty guards at the Blade and Stars told that the half eaten and badly decomposed female warrior's corpse was slung over the shoulders of a sturdy gold dwarf, boots and armour covered with sewer filth and other unidentifiable organic substances as he shuffled into the Guard Captain's office and let the body slip to the floor with a squishy thud, pronouncing that they had "taken care of that sewer bug now." The Captain handsomely rewarded him and a hin lady (who was not at all bad looking), while muttering something about hoping to find a way to cull the sewer spiders before they got to grow to such size in the future.

(( i take it the staged encounter i had placed near/around her got deleted in a reset? there is no mention of it in either of your posts.

(The huge (sword?) spider? That was staged? I thought it looked different from the spider I saw when scouting, but I assumed it was part of the static. I was impressed by the clicking of mandibles! Was that you?)

Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
Nope, the spider must have spawned in. I place a lot of Dawn's gear on some NPCs and had a whole encounter set up. You would have known...
Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
An amnish merchant can be heard swearing black and blue, complaining noisily to anyone who'll listen about the rampant thievery of the area.
"Why, naught but three nights ago while we camped seventeen miles north of tempus tears, thieves cut their way through ties downs and canvas and made off with the cargo i'd brought in Waterdeep. A Netherese vase, shou silk embroidery, and an assortment of rare books, some of which were enchanted!
I hope what passes for the law here finds and hangs the bastards but I have almost no faith in that happening. This'll be the last time I trade this way, that's for sure."

*a young knight of Lathander is seeking out information on a personage known as Gwyndolen, formerly associated with the Sword's Edge. She has offered coin to various barkeeps and shopkeepers for knowledge of this person or evidence of her writings and correspondence.*

Even in the dim light of the glowing orbs of the Elfsong inn, you could see ink stains on the old man's arthritic hand as he pointed toward the noble district. "Antonio Rudrago Durrovolo" were his only words as he hide his eyes with his wide brimmed hat and slunk back into the wooden armchair that had been so worn by the mans body over the years that it seemed to form around his rear.Cloud_Dancing wrote:*a young knight of Lathander is seeking out information on a personage known as Gwyndolen, formerly associated with the Sword's Edge. Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
The brutish half-orc Rhaggot emerged from the fetor of the dreadful sewers of Baldur's Gate, emerging from a trap door near the guardpost pushing a man's body up and out of the hatch for placement in the guardpost's makeshift morgue. Not long after, Rhaggot ducked back down and retrieved a puddle-bloated corpse in much worse shape, possibly feminine, but provoking no particular expression or visible disgust from the warrior. Also it was deposited into the local guards' care, with a warning that "Bunch spiders maked bite on these 'uns bet, shoulds do things bout alla 'em bugs."
((OOC, I have no idea why but the Decayed Corpse of Dawn Rayskycrow was down there, I am sure I saw it sitting near a shrine in the Castle District a couple days before, and I see a rumor of the 17th several posts before about it already being recovered... maybe you had a database hiccup, there was no valuable gear, just 45 outfits. The other corpse was non-decayed, someone with a "T" name... unfamiliar, new PC with only a gladiator's outfit to his name. Both in areas where spiders are extremely common.))

(( that is odd. i had already stripped valuables for a staged encounter that got deleted before the server reset on a previous occasion. i'm not sure why the corpse returned to that location. let me know which temple you leave it at and i will try to remember to move it to the DM room for now. ))

In Beregost, a number of horses have become ill. At least three riders who had stopped in Beregost for the evening had their horses come up blind two days later. One owner, a man by the name of Dean Ellison, an agent with the Baldur's gate merchants guild, has vowed to get the bottom of the illness that has come over his prized horse, and offers a reward to anyone with information as to how this happened or to anyone that can remedy the illness.
