The red death... Is gone! The murder rate in Baldurs Gate has gone back to its normal amount. Normal people dare go walk the night again and for at least a week the inns see more coin then in many months as commoners celebrate a well ended solar eclipse.

There was a brief solar eclipse as well, many discussed why it came so suddenly? In the end, few know but the most brilliant of arcanist who doesnt seem to share why.

One strange thing was that under the eclipse there was a murder attempt on Duke Eltan himself in one of his smaller parties in the high hall. Eye witnesses tells that the endless vigil with allies stormed into the high hall and tore through beast and man to save the Duke. Eye witnesses tell of a huge red beast climbing the building, getting into the window only to fall out a few moments later, torn asunder. A wyvern was seen swooping into the hall as well but clearly that was as well defeated.

Many asks for what happpened and Duke Eltan has simply answered "The news will come."

Around Beregost...

A mysterious hermit who seems to change his face more often than his stinking clothing, seems to enjoy misdirecting travelers in the Wood of Sharp Teeth. Some to a grim end, as local Lathanderites may mutter.

The Sword's Edge may have somehow helped the Lathanderites in that regard though. It's unclear what they were doing escorting a pair of battered locals to their temple.

Around Baldur's Gate,

Bloodied, still wet weapons are left as war-prizes, sacrificed to the House of the Sharpened Axe, by one of the more hulking figures oft seen at temple. A visit and shouted thanksprayer are brief as the half-orc Rhaggot carries a shrouded bundle to the temple of the Lady Luck.

It turns out to be the once vital remains of a man, left laid out in Priestess Lucy's care with an edged weapon in one hand, and gambler's tools - cards and knucklebones - in the other.

Outside of the walls:

Few of the dukes soldiers were heard talking about a brutish, dark armored figure that was seen returning from the ruins near the duke mansion. The figure seemed to have left a trail of dozens dead ogres of various sizes, including blue skinned one behind it.

While making it's way back to the city , the figure carried a shiny and impressive huge axe on it's back.

A few men returning from the Cloakwood shared a few words at the Elfsong tavern.

A dusty man at arms:
"Damn shocking...who'd do such a thing?"

A lean man in robes replied:
"Who and by the gods why? why be so cruel as to hang those beautiful dryads naked and mutilated off the trees? *He taped his chin* Malarites, perhaps, but it seems almost too sloppy for them..."

A man in green leathers interjected:
"Whoever or whatever beast it was... it was powerful as it was vile.
Managing to murder those fair forest maidens and a few of their fey protectors... as dangerous and capable as they are" *He then shook his head grimly*

The group continued to talk and argue about the issue into the night, eventually deciding, to the dismay of the man in leathers to leave the matter be...
Whoever or whatever it was that did the deed, will probably prove too dangerous for them.

At highsun on Mirtul 13, a streak of flame is seen falling down from the heavens, landing somewhere deep within the Wood of Sharp Teeth. Anyone walking near the wood along the Trade Way sees it, and word of the event quickly spreads in taverns throughout Beregost and Baldur's Gate. Accounts differ on where exactly the meteorite struck, but all agree it was deep within the wood.

There are murmurings among the more learned citizenry of the Gate on how valuable metals from the heavens can be. However, everyone agrees that venturing into Sharp Teeth after such an object is foolhardy at best.

(( Encounter(s) are placed. Be careful, Sharp Teeth is a big place and full of many dangers... ))

The red clad man laughs upon hearing the news of the dragon head being totted into the city, leaning against his spear at the Gate of the Friendly Arm Inn.

His only reply : "Yes...this one and his companions has slain something similar....though the head was left attached, lest the mother of the beast seek swift retribution upon these."

Of coarse, the rumormongers scoff at the man...until they see the serious faces of the others guarding the gate.

"Wouldn't be sarprised tha mother of tha beast starts circlin the city meself..." one guard replies, half jokingly.

The rumours spreads fast among the streets of Baldurs Gate. The Duke Eltan himself held a victory feast with the Endless Vigil, granting them the rewards for stopping the Red Death. The most incredible rumour is that Bevak Tark has been forgiven for past problems and has now been titled "Warden". A title with no responsibilities but it demands respect from the citizens of Baldurs Gate.

Theres also a shrine being built in the middle of Baldurs gate, of some sun god thats not Lathander...

There is also a precious statue of finest marble being make. It stands in the Ducal Palace and looks like Deva Bishop, standing and gazing out over the room with a playful smile, dressed in a fancy toga.

Something stirs within the Cloakwoods, the goblins are restless and pushed to the outskirts of the woods, closer to human settlements.

A few death of farmers have brought Duke Belt of the Cloakwood Mansion to send men to strike at the goblins with force, The men had some success though quickly retreated, reporting of something more troubling than goblins.

As they pushed the goblins back with force they encountered are far more fearsome force, undead moving deep within the woods.

Words says they will slay any living creature who dare wander the woods, humaniond, human or animals and that at night ghostly mists warnder the woods sapping the life out of any warm blooded creature.

*large hand written posters are popping up in Baldur's Gate Inns and post boards ((and in the coming days the Friendly Arm and Beregost))*

Wanted: Information

I have lost my brother Sywyn. He is six heads high, skin of dark earth, hair black, and decorated with leaf colored feathers. He is known in the Gate as a generous patron and traveller as well as a helpful hero.

Please contact Elrien at the Three Kegs Inn if you have information or pass the message on to any of our Elven kind for me. His family misses him dearly and longs for news of his well-being. Reward offered for his exact location at any rate.

It seems a man was murdered in the Blade and Stars recently by having his throat cut in full view of the bar patrons. One rumor is that the murderer was a banite, and yet another rumor swears it was a grieving father avenging his dead wife and son. All safely agree that the watch has taken the murderer into custody.

It has been told that a bearded man in heavy red and gold armor has been kneeling at the statue of Ilmater in prayer and meditation. He has refused all food and water speaking not a word.

It may be on the lips of guards and common folk alike that the members of the Endless Vigil, Kyrinil, Deva, Fenrick,Rothar, and Bors were seen dragging a makeshift cart of dead bodies into the gate. Among them and this cart was also one live woman, looking quite skittish and upset, who was last seen walking with Kyrinil into the blade and stars.

Rumors have it these bodies may have been brought into town from the cloak wood, and were then either handed over to a captain of the guards, or were brought to a temple in the city.
