Any PC who enters the Sword's Edge guildhouse at this time will immediately note the reek of carrion permeating their residence.
Any PC who investigates finds the source in the bed of one of the bedrooms.

The source, once investigated, will also contain a hastily scribbled note: "Please don't remove. This is Tahir. He used to belong to this guild. I am trying to raise money to bring him back to life. Thank you! -Ashlee"

The source of the stink vanishes as mysteriously as it had arrived, and the previous note has disappeared too. But attached to the door leading down to the bedrooms is another note. It reads: "My name is Ashlee von Ettinbruuk. You don't know me, but Tahir is my friend. He fell in battle recently while defending High Hold from dark forces. The paladin Alyra Ashedown bid me seek out the Dukes and Sword's Edge in Baldur's Gate, and told me to ask them for aid in bringing him back to the land of the living. Please, if you can help me, seek me out. I will be staying here in this city for as long as I can afford it. -Ashlee"

Re: Sword's Edge - An Awful Stink
Drunkenly,Trapper Wind, swilled back a quick shot of whiskey, after being horribly startled that evening. She had dropped the entire basket of fresh eggs and bottles of sweet cider from Gullykin on the way up to check on Gwen and Merrin upon finding a corpse of her Priest in her old room.
Later, as she sat trying to drink the smell out of her nostrils, odd people were wandering around in the Market, when the words "Tahir" drifted around and said with loud distress. Weird colors of rage swirled behind her eyes and the aching headache that drove her to distraction.
Her cheek twitched, reflecting what she had seen. Bane. She saw the symbol worn proudly, causing her to reason one of Barid's men had drifted from their base beyond Ulgoth's Beard. Not good. Nose in Sword's Edge business. Mentions of Madeline. Not good. She had scooped up Windsun before he could see and ran him to Nanny's house for a visit, and then had headed to the Elfsong for nip to settle her nerves.
Secondly, someone had left the doors of the Sword's Edge WIDE open. This was a pet peeve of both Merrin and Nanny's. And even worse, a problem if poor wide-eyed Gwenny drifted outside unaided.
She and the stragglers found the pretty girl, digging in the yard, trying to temporarily bury Tahir's remains. ousted from the house now. Seeing the dewy young girl, digging a hole in the rocky soil, cause her to nearly loose it this time. The sadness rolled over her. Visions of the ones lost in the before times due to negligence. Lettinus struggling to learn to walk and fight again. She tried to shake away the insanity of seeing his body torn limb from limb.
Trapper would help. Of course she would help. She always helped. As she pressed the valuables into the shimmering girl's hands, she wondered, how long would she last?
She looked again at the well-folded advertisement she had gotten at the Quartermaster's Offices down by the docks and took to a blank parchment, then began to scribble a proposal to finally make sure her family would have their own safe hearth and home.
