Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
Word spreads of a storm unlike any seen in years rolling over the small village of Ulgoth's Beard recently and lingering over the village for brutal hours of relentless fury.

Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
A few rumors mention talk of a squad of Banite soldiers entering the city, and meeting with a Banite Priest in the Helm and Cloak. Many exclaim with a swear, saying that the last thing this city needs is more Banites.

Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
*Standing near his cottage, Baldurian Citizen Quisond complains about the new arrivals to Baldur

*shaking head* Tough times these are. I mean literall the other day I saw me a band of Dogs praising Auril near her monument. They're there like every day now! That monument only gets used when we waz' having tough winters buh' now we've got them spinning around hand and hand every day. Damnable snow flakes! Now we'll be held prisoner to them as well. Part of me coin taxed by the city, part of me coin havin' to go to Umberlee so she won't swallow up our merchant boats and part of me coin will have to go to the Ice Queen now so that the winters don't destroy me crops?
And jus' when you thought that was bad some pack of fools dressed in fire colors come barkin' about purifying each other in flame. Sounds a bit limp wrist to me friend. I bet they're behind all those explosions and forest fires goin' round.
And last but certainly not least *spits* BANITES. Saw me a whole bloomin' set of em. Sitting in their black armor being all creepy. I mean, seriously...we know the Black Hand is an evil power, no need to scare the children with your creepy looking armors. Don't know why the city lets those fellows in. I'm tellin' you, I smell a rebellion coming if the Dukes don't fix this proper. Like the one I lead in the city of Calderack....What? There is so a town called Calderack! I could have been their king if i wanted. *stabs shovel into another pile of horse dung*

Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
Rathalan Whitsword was seen carrying the corpse of a heavily armored and decorated warrior into town through the East Gate. Some who stopped to note the fellow quickly recognized that he was one who went by the name of "Modok".
The body was laid in repose at the Headquarters of the Flaming Fist until the priest could confirm the man's fiath and make arrangements for rites to be performed.

Word begins to spread in the bars and inns along the sword coast of the triumph over the Sharran Menace by an unlikely but formidable group of factions fighting as one under the banner of the Water Queen, Umberlee.

Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
*A notice left at the helm and cloak in, It is written in a small delicate almost beautiful script*
I have travelled into the depths of cloakwood, there I found a corpse, I do not know who it was because there was a group of Gnolls in the area meaning I could not get close enough to give a good description. If any of you have recently lost a friend I believe that is where you will find them, I am sorry for your loss.

Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
in helm & cloak tavern at the table covered with many empty ale tankards sits a large man with tattooed face, outfitted in a red plate armor. blood is splattered all over his armor and shield that rests behind him, as well as it cakes his dradlocked hair. some of it might be his, but most obviously is someone elses blood... he cleans his axe, drinks and tells of orc horde accompanied by monstrous warg the size of a warhorse taking up home in cloakwood.

Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
an elf, a man and two halflings stagger into helm and cloak at late hour of night, bloodied and battered, but in high spirits. ale and wine flows at the table, as do stories of defeated orc horde and grand battle with orc chieftan, who evidently was defeated...

Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
The unkempt warrior often seen wearing the armor of Tempus named Thorvald, a hin warrior named Myra from Gullykin, and the green robed elf Kyrahd have been seen traveling in each others company more and more often in recent days. Most recently the three were seen traveling into the Woods of Sharp Teeth from Gullykin. Talk amongst the hin community speaks of the three disappearing into the woods for longer then a tenday and eventually returning looking haggard and worn.

There has been a new notable face in the Blushing Mermaid as of late. A man brandishing the name of 'Cole' has been asking the barkeep and patrons for work in the Baldur's Gate area, armed with a longsword and a newly purchased longbow.

Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
An armored hin and human, covered in blood from various wounds, were seen carrying a limp body of an elf to Brother Maynard of Lathander. Upon setting him down at his feet, the hin could be over heard instructing Maynard to give this "brave warrior" a proper burial, as she handed him a very large pile of coins. After leaving the elf for burial, the hin could be seen for many hours afterwards sitting with a bottle of spirits at the Helm and Cloak, listening to the bard play for generous tips.

Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
Seperate funerals were held for two area defenders.
Thorvald the Tempus warrior was cast off to sea in a Sea-Fire boat by a few of the local Tempus devote. Thorvald was best known as one of the mighty defenders during the "Titans of Ao" conflict. He was known for his bravery in battle and skill with an axe. Among his attendees of mention were one Emerald Knight who watched in the background during the ceremony of flames.

Kyrahd the Elf also fell at a disclosed seperate time. Kyrahd Tylean was also a noteable defender during the "Titans of Ao" conflict. He was known for his hard nosed attitude, but good heart. Among the attendees were The Elves of the "Crescent Blade" Order who took the elf's body for a formal elven procession. They were seen marching into the forests with his corpse.

It's rumored that both defenders passed fighting undead, but the allegations can neither be confirmed or denied.

Re: Tavern Tales and Rumours
much to the initial objection of helm and cloak's host, group of folk ventured down into the cellar other night, supposedly to search for someone. they returned some time later, looking tired and battered, but oddly none seemed to be bleeding...
some seemed to be confused about what just happened, while others started buying up provisions and supplies, talking of trip to the wood of sharp teeth.

The body of the elf Cale was recovered from a pack of wolves. He was buried in the forest near the road.
