The Bandit One-Eye and Grizzly

I was tasked to join Sergeant Klaven's squad of men and investigate a cave south of the city and along the coast where the bandit One-Eye and his accomplice Grizzly were believed to be hiding out with their stolen goods.Thorvald Cleric of the Foehammer offered his aid to the cause as he saw Sergeant Klaven gathering us for the assignment and his aid was accepted by Sergeant Klaven. Along the way to the cave complex we encountered a scout who was spying on us and who appeared to be one of One-Eye's men. When this scout was spotted and refused to surrender for questioning and instead charged me with his blade drawn I cut him down. After the encounter with the scout who appeared to be operating alone, Sergeant Klaven ordered us forward onto the cave we were to investigate. Upon arrival to the cave we encounter resistance in the form of hidden archers inside who were killing our men as we entered, Sergeant Klaven sent in three men all who were slain and then myself and another member of the squad inside to stop the archers from firing upon the the rest of the squad as they tried to enter the cave. I entered the cave first and after a moment Thorvald Cleric of the Foehammer entered, I can only assume he stepped forward to take the place of the other squad member ordered in with me. Thanks to the aid of Cleric Thorvald's axe in combat the archers inside the cave entrance were slain and Sergeant Klaven and his men were able to enter the underground complex without danger. Once inside the complex the Half-Orc Guglag was assigned to my team as well as the Cleric Thorvald, the three of us made up the scouting force for Sergeant Klaven's operation. Once my team separated from Sergeant Klaven's main body we advanced to find a secret passage leading deeper into the underground tunnel system. I at this time sent Guglag back to report to Sergeant Klaven about the finding. Guglag reported back to me moments later that Sergeant Klaven and the rest of the squad were no where to be found. After returning to their last known position and investigating I found no signs of a struggle, it had appeared as if the main body of the operation along with Sergeant Klaven simply vanished. At this time I lead Guglag and Cleric Thorvald through the secret passage we had found earlier in hopes that if the main body was some how captured by bandits using a net work of secret passages we may find and rescue Sergeant Klaven and his men. Guglag, Cleric Thorvald and myself then navigated a series of tunnels encountering several more bandits and sharpened spike traps they had in place to keep out intruders. Due to the bravery and prowess of Guardsman Guglag and Cleric of the Foehammer Thorvald we were able to eventually track down Grizzly and One-Eye, both of whom fought fiercely until their deaths. Upon One-Eye's person I found a key which later unlocked a chest that was used to store the stolen effects the gang had acquired.

3 Potions of Cure Light Wounds
15 loose gold coins

The curative potions were used to replace some of those used by members of my team during the operation, all other items from the recovered chest remain in my possession at this time to be turned into the Flaming Fist Quarter Master. I was impressed with Flaming Fist member Guglag's bravery against overwhelming odds and suggest he be awarded for his valor. I was also impressed with the Cleric of the Foehammer Thorvald who stepped forward to aid in Sergeant Klaven's operation and who's prowess in battle and determination allowed my team to succeed where we would have otherwise failed, it is my recommendation he be compensated by the Flaming Fist for his efforts and aid in todays operation. At the time of this report I do not know what has become of Sergeant Klaven or the rest of the squad that was sent to track down Grizzly and One-Eye and recover the stolen items they had in their possession.
