The Rising of Selune

There is a new tune working it's way through Silverymoon. a ballad of a lost child in peril, ravenous evil, and heroes to battle it beneath Selune's bright gaze...
The Rising of Selune
Selune was full and spinning
Above the night-black battle drear
beneath her silver-wink
The flashing claws, the glowing eyes of red on the slope
above us leered
Malar cultists laughing gaily
above the savaged corpses raved
With them to us unknown... the child of Malar
That we had come to save.
Under the rising of the moon, the rising of Selune
T'was our night of judgment
By the rising of Selune
Come tell me Favored Soul... of the Moon-maiden so wise
How do we defeat monsters so vile
When so many dead around us lie?
And Alyra... O' Samman with your sword of flashing steel
How do we defeat so many
when so many fangs and claws... around us wheel?
O' wizard, wee Olaf of the unpronounceable blur
How can you magic away
Such a hunger-consumed horde?
Under the rising of the moon, the rising of Selune
T'was our night of judgement
By the rising of Selune
With an eerie cry, the vile river flowed
Vicious spells bloomed and Steel played
Under the eyes of Selune
For a child so innocent, a bloody battle fared
Under a night en-silvered
Beneath the blood-soaked battle there
Feral rage 'gainst silver weighed
Two gods above us whirled
for it all... the fate of one girl
Under the rising of the moon, the rising of Selune
T'was our night of judgment
By the rising of Selune
So many of them have fallen
and yet still they come...
Then all at once the fight is done!
Blood-soaked ruin of a battle
Victory in silver down the mountain
runs
The child is gone
The battle - Malar lost
And under the silver-wink
of Selune...
We count the cost
Under the rising of the moon, the rising of Selune
T'was our night of judgment
By the rising of Selune
... a dwarf of all creatures is rumored to have written it!
