Gossip swirls in high society taverns about the appointment of a local adventurer Keren Horn to the diplomatic staff of the city of Silverymoon. Speculation is rife that he must have patronage from somewhere inside the palace. City salons have seen a minor increase in business as minor nobility and wealthy merchants seek to attract his attention, through their daughters, to this eligible bachelor.

A local hero murdered in Rivermoot!

Post by rorax »

People in Rivermoot mourned on the death of a young paladin named James. The fellow was a local hero, devoted follower of Tyr and a brave militia soldier. Legion soldiers found his severed head spiked on a rusty spear not too far from the trail up the hills.

Patrols that were sent to scout the area found the trail blocked by boulders on it's northern part and the corpse of the paladin near by. The man was brought to burial later that day in a humble Tyrran ceremony.

Orcs took over the mine!

Post by rorax »

Legion soldiers warned travelers and visitors around Rivermoot to stay away from the old mine complex in the hills. The local sergeant said that a large and aggressive orc tribe took over the place and attack lone travelers and small parties near the area.

Yet another misery strike the battle-hardened citizens of Rivermoot...

Farmers from the plantation area reported that hay piles and some live stock were stolen by daring kobolds. Legion scouts found tracks leading to the old kobolds lair just north of the town.

A later attempt to send a squad of soldiers to deal with the problem failed as the force had to retreated, overwhelmed and surprised by the high number of the beasts and their organized moves.

Two ogre heads have been set on pikes at the base of the Rivermoot bridge.

A small troupe of dwarfs, bloodied and beaten, brought the trophies down from the mountains, claiming to have slain some score of orcs in addition to the giants.

The group helped themselves to a cask of the village's ale as a reward for their efforts.

Rumor has it that the resupplying effort in Settlestone had been being harried by giants and ogres. However, news comes from Settlestone and Fourthpeak that a small group of adventurers found the lair of the giant-kin and slew the tribe down to the last ogre, once more making the trail to Settlestone safer.

Legion scout mistress Jye reported that another mixed group of giants and orcs was spotted moving into the cave. The leader of the group, a large sized orc, was seen wearing a shield of Bane.

Merry slips quietly up towards the cave entrance noticing several large ogres milling about and grumbling. After several tense hours they slowly enter the cave. Merry slowly eases forwards making sure to stay hidden in the shadows where she feels at home. Merry listens closely at the entrance and the footsteps fade deeper into the cave and she slips inside and almost into an ogre who was taking a piss near the entrance. Merry looks about quickly and cautiously as the ogre who is now finished wonders down the tunnel. Breathing a quiet sigh of relief she moves a bit deeper and notices two very large ogres standing guard about halfway down the tunnel. Merry takes note and slowly retreats back the Hrafen Jye and informs her of this.

This is sent by courier to the Argent Legion Post in Raueven Watch Keep as well as High Hold and Rivermoot.

Wrinkled pieces of paper are posted on The Golden Oak and any buildings nearby, each note having the same scribbling on it. There's no indication on who wrote them. In fact, every note seems to have been written by someone different. The handwriting varies from readable to sloppy.

"Need to leave Silverymoon forever. In the next week or so. The Golden Oak. The corner table to the right. Name your price. I don't have much, but I have enough to satisfy a pair of adventurers."

"Please. Get me out."

Dire news arrive from the peaks...

As it seems, the heads of three legion soldiers were found spiked on rusty spears in valley down from the legion post in the area. A scroll with fine written script was found in a small chest next to the spiked heads.

"For those who consider themselves brave and heroic!

Consider the men here, who paid with their life for your foolish actions - as your last warning. We urge you to be more reasonable and restrain your heroic desires. The price, shall you try to do something foolish again, will be much higher.

Signed,
Sevrok , the servant of Bane"

Merry sneak back up towards the entrance and noticed the fresh heads of Legionaires on the pikes. She mumbles a string of curses under her breath and slowly moves back down the hill. Merry then proceeds with caution up to Settlestone to warn the Mithral Hall Dwarves of this and then heads to Rivermoot and see what the delay is about.

EDIT:Olin and Merry make the trek back up to Fourthpeak without much trouble. Merry left word with Sargeant Wilson of Olin and herselfs intentions of staying in Fourthpeak to meet up with whomever was willing to put and end to the half-orc.

OOC: Whens a good time to meet up and get this done??

I will be available on 12/26/2012 pretty much all day barring any calls...

Assault on the Legion outpost!

.
A large, combined force of giants, orcs and few human priests assaulted the legion outpost in Fouthpeaks. According to legion officials eight legion soldiers and four dwarves who were stationed in the outpost because of the recent tense were killed in the attack.

Jye and the remaining forces managed to escape from the outpost towards Settlestone. The invading force remained in the outpost for few hours, plundering it and taking valuable military supplies and papers. The force then left, but not before hanging the corpses of the slain soldiers from the walls of the tower.

Reinforcement forces of legion soldiers and dwarves who came back from Settlestone, led by scout mistress Jye reclaimed the outpost few hours later without a fight.

Meanwhile, back in Rivermoot the news were received in mixed feelings by most citizens and soldiers. While most supported the actions of the local heroes, and said that Banite forces should be destroyed wherever they are and at any cost, some criticism in lower tunes could be heard claiming that the actions of the heroes were motivated by greed and that legion soldiers paid for that with their life.

A dour -faced dwarf was seen leaving Rivermoot, treding slowly up the passes toward Fourthpeak alone.

On arrival, Hazerin immediately questions Jye for long moments, among other things as to why Battlehammer has failed to commit his hundreds of troops to this immediate threat in his own lands with Settlestone so recently devestated. A deep angry scowl can be seen on his face as he goes to arighting what he can about the Human Outpost. From moving boulders over the gateway to drop, to rendering fat for cauldrons for boiling oil, to rigging the stairway to the top of fourthpeek to collapse when needed, the grizzled dwarf can be seen angrily helping prepare the defences, when not directly instructing the Legionmen there on some of the less fine points of battling giants.
