Word has been spreading from High Hold all the way to Rivermoot to the west and Ravinwatch Keep to the East, that a pair of flying shapes distinctly draconic in appearance have been spotted by keen eyed scouts. The official word is that they are thought to be wyverns, not an altogether unusual sight in the region.
A shifty eyed grinning halfling in High Hold has been overheard spreading rumors that they were probably dragons, and that people should stock up on his supply of 'rare, magicked and SPECIAL discounted anti-dragon defense items', before the leaders of the Argent Legion managed to shut him up.

Perhaps in response to the rumors of recent increase in kobold activity around the region, quite a few green adventuring troupes have begun to show up in the Marches. Kobolds are after all seen as easier pickings than the likes of orcs...
Rumors also speak of a number of them getting themselves into trouble, apparently including a fight in one of the Gem's taverns that resulted in nearly a dozen individuals spending quality time at the constabulary. More than one street performer has been making the rounds retelling the story with a variety of exaggerations and dramatic flair; the favorite detail seems to be recreating the bewildered expression on one mage's face when he tried to cast some spell or other and it fizzled completely, ostensibly due to the mysterious wards of Silverymoon, just before taking a dwarf fisted haymaker to the chin that knocked him unconscious.
In the village of Rivermoot, the name of a group called Knights Draconis has begun to invoke somewhat favorable responses, though many still snort and chuckle at what they perceive as overdone hubris on the part of whoever came up with the name.

Rumors circulate between Silverymoon's surrounding areas and Sundbar, telling of kobolds attacking travelers recently in the Silverymoon Pass; it's the first time such attacks have been noted north and east of the Gem. Among the stolen items reportedly were one or two high quality musical instruments (rumored to be magical) made by the Speaker of Sundabar, the half elf Sindyl Omoghael.
In Silverymoon, one Lu'cette of Argillia still is rumored to be seeking adventurers for hire at the Fochlucan.
In other news further west, Wyverns have been spotted once again by the guards of Rivermoot, as well as sightings in High Hold. No attacks have been reported so far, but both reports mention the wyverns seemed to be flying in a northerly direction.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (III) - post your rumours and gossip he
Rumors of kobold attacks continue... this time fresh reports of a small band of kobolds about a day's march east of High Hold that apparently ambushed and overwhelmed an overconfident novice adventuring party, killing one of them while the 3 others ran in shock and surprise. Reports are that some of the kobolds were using arrows that burst into flames and that at least one seemed to be wearing some kind of small mail shirt.
((small simple encounter set, expect CR to be somewhere between 3 to 5 range; note that there's been issues with mobs not dropping loot set as droppable; please give me a report if this encounter is found and defeated for loots))

Re: Tavern Knowledge (III) - post your rumours and gossip he
Rumors in High Hold: a near altercation took place recently apparently among a group of heavily armed adventurer types in front of the Inn across the river from High Hold.
Word is that a dire bear that seemed to have been provoked into aggression by something or other was put down by the adventurers later. The frightened barkeep who had a close brush with death reportedly is taking a day or two of rest, though he would pass on the message that any of those involved in aiding him are welcome to come and have drinks on the house for the rest of the tenday.
Elsewhere: word begins to spread that there have been skirmishes between a rather large band of orcs and the men posted at Hawk's Nest. Some in Silverymoon begin to murmur that these are dreaded elite orcs left behind by last year's Horde, though such is of course, unconfirmed.
Lu'cette of Argillia still is rumored to be seeking adventurers for hire at the Fochlucan.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (III) - post your rumours and gossip he
Rumors in Quarvaar - a local townsman went missing for several days until his corpse was discovered with several arrows sticking out of him. The Argent Legion scout in the area also reports an unusual set of tracks left by a two footed creature that he wasn't able to identify, along with the usual humanoids that roam the nearby area such as goblins and gnolls.
Rumors spread through both High Hold and Rivermoot that an experienced scout returned from a foray deep into the Evermoors, reporting several of his companions dead and lost to grim and evil horrors which he refused to speak of in any detail.
He also reportedly saw a flying creature; some swear that the man spoke of it being a dragon, while most seem to be under the impression it was reported as an unusually large wyvern.
Whatever the true tale, the scout is said to have moved on in his grief, supposedly departing the grim dangers of the North for an indefinite time... perhaps forever.
Rumors in Silverymoon report that the orc skirmish at Hawk's Nest resulted in a victory for the Legion; however it's suspected that several surviving bands that retreated are scattered in the area.
(OOC note, be cautious when ATing into the Hawk's Nest area; due to the extremely cramped layout of walkmeshes, it's possible that mobs end up close enough to the AT that they attack if you move a short distance after ATing in.))

(( Heard around the campfires outside of the gates at Sundabar))
"Aye. This human here is big, but the ogre was bigger..... much bigger! " *Kargund spoke easily to both the gathered humans and dwarves with a smile on his face and a glint in his eyes. Bjorn sat next to him, drinking deeply of the dark ale and enjoying the tale-telling*
"We took down two of the ogres without much of a mess but this third... *Kargund whistled for effect* "He was 5 hands taller and 20 stone thicker than the rest of 'em. Bjorn here charged at him, and the clang of both their axes was near to deafen a person. It was ugly and bloody. They both screamed and huffed, swinging with everything they had! I was able to get a bit of help to bind a wound on Bjorn ...and just in time too. That ogre nearly gutted him with a big swing. But at the same time Bjorn struck him back and opened his chest deep. "
"I got knocked back so hard that my head cracked on the Felbarr trail stone. Bjorn went down in a heap and the ogre giant was sure to finish him. The creature raised his axe up high for the final blow but Bjorn's strike was true. The ogre's lifeblood were spent and he dropped the big axe and went down in a heap."
*Kargund slapped the big north islander on the back hard and laughed*
"I thought you coming to Tempus right there, Bjorn. He must want you fighting again I suppose!"
*The human and the dwarf spent the night with the caravaners and were able to join a caravan to finish the remainder of the trek to Citadel Felbarr.*

A one eyed dwarf has been seen sitting at the apex of the Moon bridge. He is surrounded by many bottles of whiskey, jugs of wine and several small casks of ale. His one good eye is swollen and red. He sits day and night, rain or sun just muttering to himself, completely oblivious to the foot traffic or anyone that even bothers to stop and attempt to talk to him.

Rumple C wrote:Three-Fang
Three-Fang sat with his pack, looking down over the cliffs. Idly they sharpened weapons, boasted of the litters they would sire in the spring, and goblins they would kill when they little wretches emerged into the warmer weather. Three-Fang paid them little heed, he did not jostle for rank to breeding rights anymore, he did not need to anymore. Time and time again had he stared down the feeble, or beaten down the braves.
He was pack leader, without question, and these were his lands.
Everything north of the river, and as far east until it hit the orc caves. Here, his world was law, he spread his musk where he pleased, and took the bitches he wanted. All gnolls knew it was so, or they would speak to his teeth or axe.
Then...On the air... dwarf stink.
They still sought to test him from across the river? This dwarf entering his territory, had he not seen his scratching? Had he not smelt his spray? How dare he try to shame him in front of his pack. His hackles raised, the chatter died behind him as the pack felt something in the air. They gathered around, their eyes lowered.
This would be a demonstration, a show of might, he did not need his pack. Two of them, two of us. Three-Fang grabbed his litter-brother by the scruff of his neck and pushed him forward, then bounded ahead.
The hunt began.
How he hated the rank smell of dwarf. Metal and smoke. How they stank. Three-claw ran at him, his dwarf-trophy-axe held high. This was not the first dwarf he had killed in these hills, and it would not be the last. He barreled at the stupid dwarf, his supine charge sending him off balance, teetering then falling off the cliff edge...
The howl of victory died in his throat as the dwarf floated down like a feather.
But that still left the human who was mumbling at something in his hand. His magical axe, Biter, bit deep at that one. The human was sent sprawling and fell next to the cliff edge, one arm dangling over, as though reaching for the dwarf who was floating softly down and cursing at them. Three-Fang bared his teeth at the dwarf, then reached out with his foot, another show of his power to his pack in the hills above. He pushed the human over the edge where he tumbled, head over heels, two almost serene rotations into a satisfying crack and thud a hundred feet down.
He licked the blood from Biter then raised it high. His litter-brother crouched at his feet in a show of meekness. The hills erupted with the baying and howling of his pack.
These were his hills, and here, he was master.

Rumors speak of a minor skirmish that took place just west of High Hold between Legion members and a group of orcs. The orcs are said to have retreated to the north, with a number of injuries to the men.
A pair of travelers heading for Nesme passed through Rivermoot recently, complaining bitterly about a group of half orc bandits that waylaid them as they traveled from Silverymoon. The robbery apparently took place a good distance east of the small town, but other details are sparse.

Word around The Angler's Inn has that at least one human adventurer disappeared after tracking the retreated orcs into a cave north of High Hold. A dwarf also received severe wounds but was said to be seeking stout warriors to both drive out the orcs and recover any missing humans before they end up in orcish cookpots.
