Kobolds, a larger than normal group, has been sighted in the hills above Rivermoot. Thus far none have been injured, but due caution is advised.

___________
Talindra let the Marshall of Rivermoot know that she would scout this out and verify the sighting. She returns and reports to the Marshall that there was no sign of these troublesome Kobolds. Most likely a predator or perhaps some adventurers or the Argent Legion Militia took care of the problem.

A half elf known a Franzel has reported seeing a group of Ogres in the Silverwood. There were more than he could handle and was thus forced to flee. He seeks aid in defeating these vile beasts. Care should be taken as they have reportedly already taken one caravan.

___________
Talindra informs the Knights at the watchtower in Silverwood South as well as the Knights in the Keep within Silverymoon know that someone has already dealt with the problem of the Ogres as well. No sign of them or the caravan is present.

Any Knights returning from Hawk's Nest would likely gossip about a huge silver dragon, flying down from the Nether Mountains to perch on a plateau overlooking the fort. Some would talk about a bold scout seen climbing up to the plateau, speaking with the creature before it flew away.

(( This was my first dragon-spotting. If any DM is interested, I'd love to take a moment to try to chat with the dragon. Otherwise I'll just say it flew off without answering Maer's questions. He seeks information about the red dragon said to be allied with the horde. ))

Marshal Kadalion asks the help of local heroes and adventurers to deal with a strong group of gnolls that have been raiding the plantation in passing tenday. The marshal would warn the heroes that gnolls are being led by a capable human and that they are hiding somewhere around the old temple ruins, north of the plantations.

The marshal is offering 500 golds reward to the heroes who would bring solid proof they have dealt with the problem.

Talindra confirms this report and points out that there are eight gnolls well-armed with finely made weapons and one human male in full plate and full helm inside the ruins. She has told Marshall Kadalion that she is willing to help but is awaiting more adventurers before attempting anything. To act alone would be certain death, she informs the Marshall.

After a second scouting, Talindra reports that three Orcs have joined with the Gnolls.

A large band of adventurers have slain all of the gnolls, the human leading them, as well as the three orcs who joined forces with them. Talindra informed Marshall Kadien of this, and offered the bloodied helmet of the human as proof.

People in Rivermoot talk about bloody trail of dozens dead ogres leading up and deep into the hills. Seems that a large ogres tribe that was perhaps pushed back by the horde forces from Fourthpeaks, took resident in one of the caves and raided people who traveled in the area.

Local heroes that were asked by sergeant Wilson to check the matter were seen returning from the hills, heavily battered - but telling stories of victory and spoils.

At the local inn, farmers and soldiers were later seen singing songs and drinking for the the glory of the heroes that day.

Farmers around the Rivermoot plantations inform the local guardsmen about dark dressed figures who wonder around the old ruin temple, specially at night time. It also reported that the dark figures sometimes carry large sacks on their backs...some of the farmers even dare to say they they spotted corpses are being moved in there!

As a result, the legion doubled their men around the cliff area and the outpost but did not send men into the ruins.

Talindra says the following to the guards of Rivermoot and to Marshall Kadalion:
Three dead-bear-dogs with sickle claws, evil cold eyes, and ribs sticking out of skin were at the temple. They are defeated.

Inside the temple door, two paces to left are two giant skeleton and man in full plate.
Same thing two paces to right of temple door. Six creatures total ambush.

Straight ahead are six more creatures. I not stay long enough to get a good look. Was very scary, if even breathe, the six guarding the door hear me. I leave right away.

Extremely dangerous.
The same message will be delivered to the Legion at High Hold and at Rauvenwatch shortly.

While the Orc Horde still looms over the northern reaches of the region there exist troubles still in the low lands from unexpected sources. Rumor spreads of a valiant and brave band made up of a red steel clad man and two elves who fought brave and true through the night to see the Great Oak defended from evil kolbolds will ill intent. The tale spreads through the taverns of the Marches as a reason for good cheer and hope that not all is lost to the Horde. There are troubles in the lands yes! and the Lands have Heroes to Face them! With each telling of the tale the Deeds of the Heroes grow bolder and not before long the acts spoken of are rather unbelievable.

on taverns, the guard barracks, in houses over meals and among the merchants one common subject, besides the ongoing war, starts to appear: Kobolds....

Some say that they believe that the little eveilnatured dragonfolks just takes advantage of the situation, raids and pillages in the wake of the orcs, that they are perhaps a part of the invading horde. Others say that they doesnt at all seem to organized, many rangers can say that theyve seen tracks of kobolds fighting kobolds.... Some even say that the kobolds have been seen assaulting the smaller of the orcs scouting parties - most agree that those rangers and scouts are insane from to many hours of solitude. Many laughs at the caravan guards worry.. Everyone knows that the scaly little monsters are way to cowardly to dare anything in large numbers, that they jumps at their owns throat as soon as some disagreement bubbles up between them. Those few reports of "worrisome" kobold activities that makes their way past lowly captains disappears in the papershuffling byrocracy of the marches.

*Word spreads along the Rauvin River of a foiled plot most foul to flood the clean waters with undead. The tavern talkers and washer womens tell tales of how dire a blight it may have been if the region's fresh water supply was tainted with undead death's corruption. While the damage that may have been done would be unimaginable by most, all are grateful for the small band of extraordinarily brave sort who went into the darkest caves to see such a horror never came to pass. It is said among them walked a Man of Red Steel, a Pair of near Identical Elven Brothers, and a Moon Elf Maiden who could only talk in babbling riddles after the terrific horrors she had born witness to.*

Rumor has it that a small group of legion soldiers that were scanning the hills for presence of the horde forces, spotted a group of different giant kin outside of the cave in dogleg.

The group did not engage the giants and reported back to sergeant Wilson who warned young adventurers to be extra careful when approaching the area.
