An Argent Legion supply caravan bound for the Fourthpeak outpost from Rivermoot is said to have disappeared en route.
((A portion of this can be completed without a DM with another part needing some assistance. Drop me a line if you find out what I'm talking about. Be careful))
______
Travellers arriving at High Hold from the North Road report seeing a strange orange and purple lights not far from the gnomish tower. THey thought they smelled a sickly scent of rotting flesh on the wind. ((Be quite careful ))

Near Winter's Edge a pair of large boars have been apparantly stalking the edge of the village recent nights.

The elves of the moonwood are somewhat perplexed. A beautiful nymph of the woods has seemed inexplicably angry of late, despite the elves longstanding good relations with the fey.

A woman wanted for murder, dark haired, escaped the Constabulary of Silverymoon last night. Her name is Julena Meltron and she is considered dangerous. A reward is offerred for her return, alive or dead. She may have others in gang alongside her.

Clad in grey leathers, a small elf wearing an Argent Legion badge approaches the guard in Winter's Edge. His face wears a small smirk, clearly pleased with himself about something
"We spotted some drow to the west, near the Vale. Ah, less than a dozen, and all dead now. 'twas mostly Sywyn the ranger's doing, to be honest. They had some rather large spiders with them, though I 'spose thats normal? Bit far from you I know, but might be they'd a raid planned here?
"Boar, you say? We're headed east, so I 'spose we'll take a look."
He moves to join his green-clad companion, and they row over across the river. Some time later, hunters near Winter's Edge may have seen he and Sywyn caring and elf corpse east deeper into the wood ((if anyone comes across the corpse, please don't treat it as being there IC))

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip her
Rumours circulate along the trade route that although the bandit threat has seemed to decrease of late, the orcs, goblins, kobolds, ogres, and gnolls have become much more active. Travel in the mountains has ground to a near halt due to attack.
It seems that raids on livestock pens and paddocks are on the rise and many of the woodland folk say game has grown very scarce. The woods and hills have become silent and deadly.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip her
A gnomish member of the Spellguard of Silverymoon has been seen to spend a great deal of his time in and around the town of Rivermoot, often staying for days at a time. He seems to be in good spirits and speaks with the Argent Legion and Marshal regularly, other times watching the hills from atop the watchtower for hours at a time.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip her
Word has spread from Fourth Peak of a small band of elves that stood against an orc war band with blade, bow, and strange magics. It is said that the few stood against a great many and won the day against the great horde. While some take such a tale as one worth of raising toast towards, other still speak in hushed and fearful tones about how many more orcs there must be in the mountains if they are sending forth war bands of such great numbers in both the Silvery Pass and towards Fourth Peak

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip her
Settlements and fortifications between Rivermoot and Silverymoon are visited by a figure clad in full-plate armor and armed with a bright smile. As he moves about the settlements he tries to calm fears and inquire about recent events and rumors from those that will share their thoughts.
When the rumors and fears have been shared over a meal or ale he lingers behind for awhile, soon his armor is exchanged for the clerical vestments of a Kelemvorian priest. He then goes forth and gathers all the deceased both inside and outside the settlements. All remains are given great care by his own hands, cleaning their bodies of grime and granting each a measure of peace, a simple shroud and prayers empowered by his god. After the preparations he stayed with those families and friends that were left behind and offered soothing words or a shoulder to cry on to all those who would have it.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip her
The unrest in the mountains continues unabated and some few hunters and woodfolk can be seem regularly lingering about the towns and inns looking for work. They claim the woods are become so dangerous and game so scarce that some have even turned to dock work to make ends meet.
It seems there was a great battle near Wintersedge after which a drunken male hin proclaimed loudly to the other patrons in The Skinned Hare Inn that he had fought side by side with the famous "fairy" ranger Sywyn. The hin went on to boast that he and his good friend Sywyn slew "ten score gobbers an' orc beasts if i'twer a singerl one!".
Many jeered and catcalled the drunkard until a hunter showed up claiming he couldn't count the number of orc and goblin corpses in the woods beyond the river.
The hin was said to continue his drunken revelry, but seemed thereafter to be alone in his mirth. Everyone else in the inn had fallen into brooding silence.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip her
Rivermoot has been blessed with a few moons of peace, long enough for an adequate bounty to last the winter months. Villagers thank a group of brave adventurers who defeated the kobold threat, allowing them to return to their fields in time to beat the winter snows to the harvest.
Only one report of a wyvern has been made in the last rides, and that from a tower sentry spotting it high above the the northern mounts.
Commonfolk gather 'round their hearths and thank Chauntea .... and Torm some add ..... for their safety and bounty.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip her
Six Griffon caravan guards stopped by Auvandell's SIlverlode Inn with three empty wagons and seemed in good cheer. They bought drinks for all patrons and boasted that the roads would once again be safe after they, with some small help from a group of adventurers, drove the beasts from the road and into the mountains.
"They ran from us with their tails between their legs...those filth will trouble us nay more!"
When asked about the many who have gone missing over the last few rides, the guards were said to claim that they had found the gnoll hideout and that the legion had been notified.
"Nay doubt our knights will return by and anon and finish the good works we began...worry not, your loved ones will be found and returned home soon."
After several rounds of drinks, the guards were seen to climb aboard the wagons and continue on toward The Gem singing battle hymns and drinking songs.

A young man has been running about Rivermoot calling out warrning
about a mad group of Orcs lurking in the Forst hill,
warning the unskilled to not venture there
and begging any with enough skill to join him back to that trail
and recover what remains there are of one good Priest Rothar Hall.
Priest Hall who has given final rites to so many of the fallen in last battles
must at the very least be given his own final rites.
The young man sent payed runners to High Hold and Silverymoon
seeking aid from all who are able and willing.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip her
words trinkle down from winters edge that a "huuuge" orc hangs some 15 feet up from a tree by a hemp-rope and less then good knots holding it in place... its on the eastern side of the river and close to where the road continue further east.
The dead orc show greenpainted patches in the face, or whats left of it. a horisontal cut is seen between the eye and a part of the back-skull is simply missing as if it taken a brutal strike that have split and ripped the skull in bits.. The orc also wears a blooded green-tinted letherarmor clearly special made for his size.
Aside the obvious deathblow to the head several arrows of a mixed style sit deep in his body and on the ground under him lay a mundane lethershield covered in yellowish paint along with a knife.

Priest of The Judged in Rivermoot, Aaron Ra Reports the remains of Brother Rothar Hall were recently brought down from the Frost hills by a large dark skinned man carrying a huge silver axe. The Corpse had been mutilated great strips of flesh cut from the arms and legs although the neck and face were left mostly intact as was most of the flesh surrounding the still intact symbol of Kelemvor. The body has been suitably attired and will rest a short time for those wishing to pay respects before burial.
Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip her
A small, pale elf clad in grey and blue leathers enters Rivermoot. He walks up to Sergeant Wilson with a tired nod.
"Sergeant? Saw quite a few orc in the hills across the river from the path to Fourthpeak. 'least two-dozen, and they looked to be practicing archery. Rather seemed to pay off for them; they were bloody good shots for orc and a few even hit me. Not such an easy thing to do. Oh, aye, 'fore that they'd spotted me, not something which usually happens with orc.
"Stuck a few arrows in them as I fled, but it only seemed to piss them off. So aye, they're bigger, better equiped and better trained than most all orc I've seen.
"These ones were marked in red, with four or so big ones covered with a red paint. Guess these must be their leaders?
"Figure I'll go spread word of this about town, lest someone think they might be able to make the trek to Settlestone.
"I came from Winter's Edge, the Vale and Fourthpeak, but there was nae sign of orc-kin 'till the Frost hills path."
