((OOC comment on above post... didn't hear anyone say they were friends with high priest or any priest of Bane for that matter))

That's why it is called a rumor thread, and not a fact thread. Slander is completely acceptable here.Erevain wrote:((OOC comment on above post... didn't hear anyone say they were friends with high priest or any priest of Bane for that matter))

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip here
Rumour about Silverymoon is that the Knights in Silver have posted guards about a tent in the caravan staging area near Moorgate. Many are heard to say the folk in the tent wear desert headdress.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip here
The brooding "dark knight" has been seen making himself [loosely] acquainted with the local patrons within Rivermoot's tavern in order to gain their aid in helping him bring his luggage [finally] off the docked boat -- and into a rather small lodging on the upper floor of the tavern. It is noted that this interaction isn't too peculiar, as the man has been seen speaking with followers of the Morninglord [without hostility] recently in full view of the public. Folks living within the hamlet are both confused and frightened, as it is unsure whether the man plans to stay for just a short while longer or permanently, as well as his motives are especially unknown.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip here
Word has it that late in the evening, the lady paladin known as "Gold Eyes" by the local populace of Rivermoot, the northman known as Wyvernslayer, and the recently arrived "dark knight" journeyed forth into the hills surrounding the small river city and entered the fallen temple nestled in the valleys beyond the plantation. The usual sound of moaning undead came to a crescendo of bones clattering and swords clashing until the early morn, when all undead activity seemed to cease within. The three were then reported leaving the temple, weary and beaten, but all looking satisfied.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip here
Talk around the caravan camp near Moor Gate is that the Knights in Silver have removed their guards about the "gypsy" tent. Some have been heard to say that the "gypsy trader" is actually a wealthy sheik from The Vast desert east of the Marches.
Scantily clad maidens in exotic silks can occasionally be spotted within the tent by the curious, but never outside the tent. There is some hushed talk about barbaric desert customs, but none are so bold as to approach the tent closely or give voice to any disparaging commentary regarding slavery or harems...the turbanned guards about tent are clearly formidable and intimidating.

Word reaches Rivermoot from the outpost at Fourthpeak that abnormally heavy snows have closed the mountain passes to the East, blocking the paths to Winters Edge.

It seems the a Logging company based in Quervaar has started an ambitious project of clearing a large section of the Moonwood forest. Some resistance it seems has occured by local elves and druids.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip here
Rumours about Silverymoon are that there was a fight in the normally sedate Golden Oak and that an elven and a blackoman were taken into custody by the militia and marched across the Moonbridge to the Knight in SIlver keep. Most say that Scout Sergeant Beredril made the arrest, but some say it was Lady Sylvaine, and others are certain it was Sir Rathalan.
There is some excited whispers that a public hanging might be forthcoming and the gypsy savages will get their due soon.

A dark-skinned man with a turban has been spreading the word in local taverns that he is gathering a group to clear the roads from Silverymoon to the dwarven stronghold of Felbarr in the name of prosperity and peace. Interested parties should seek out a man named Darjin at the Oak.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip here
Various rumours are spread in the Rivermoot inn regarding a certain incident at the bridge into Rivermoot. Amongst the rumours is one where it is said that the half orc Grull returned to Rivermoot with a dog. It is said that the dog talked to the milita guarding the bridge and demanded that his master be allowed entry into the village. When Grull was denied entry, it breathed fire on them, but the guards bravely slew the beast and drove Grull off into the hills.

Rumours are spread throughout the south bank of Silverymoon. A green armoured half orc is said to have entered the university in a very dark mood. Some students suggest the half orc battled a giant black and red dire wolf in the lobby of the university, summoned from the darkness with swirling shadows surrounding it. Others suggest the half orc summoned it herself, but the powerful magics of the deans dispelled it. The half orc was later seen yelling for Magus Miresk upstairs in the university and then disappeared with him when he appeared. It later fleed from the university after losing a magical duel with the magus.

Rumours are spread throughout the north bank of Silverymoon of a battle occuring in Optym's, again a green armoured half orc is implicated as being involved. Some passer-bys have said armed humanoid creatures wearing spiked armour appeared from thin air and attacked Optym, the green armoured half orc and an innocent shopper, but were all quickly slain by Optym himself.

Re: Tavern Knowledge (II) - post your rumours and gossip here
Magus Miresk, never the most approachable person in Faerun at the best of times, was heard to issue a blistering lecture to a hapless first year student who whispered that the Dean's magics must be powerful indeed to have vanquished the half-orc, since he's dead. When Miresk was finished with the scholar, the Magus generally accepted as the Dean Elect attempt to send the student to Serapheena to receive a detention for impudence, but the hapless student was seen gathering his books and scrolls and creeping out of the University rather than face that fate.

Two bodies were found just outside High Hold today, one dead from arrows one from a blow to the head. The only witness speaks of seeing four bandits at the scene, lead by a human, in his mid-twenties, nearly 6'6" with a balanced, athletic build; with dirty blonde hair that hangs in a loose part from the middle of his head to just past his ears. Further details have been given to the High Hold watch.

Ian Greybeard, a priest of Selune was seen along with a small hooded figure boarding on a ship to Baldur Gate. Before disappearing into the ship, the pair left few coins to the gate guards and asked them to inform the hin Mimosa on their destination.
