A Land Far Away

So ... I just did the free upgrade of my Windows 7 laptop to Windows 10.


All went well until I tried to launch NWN2 ...

and it crashes.

"Neverwinter Nights 2 has stopped working"

"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a a solution is available".



Are there known compatibility issues?
Is there some setting I need to change?



This laptop pretty much serves only as an NWN2 gaming system next to work desk so I kind of want to get it working.

Yep...kinda expected that might happen. That's why I've been ignoring the free "upgrade" notices.

You could maybe try to run the program in legacy mode (assuming Win10 has that).

Also try running as Administrator

I've been running NWN2 on Windows 10 for months (technical preview) without issue.

I have no special compatibility modes set.

You should update your graphics drivers and make sure that nothing else has changed. Make sure that you have installed DirectX 9c. Worst case, reinstall NWN2.

I did the lazy thing and went back to Windows 7.

I'll try to work on the other recommendations above later.

Except my mini map stopped working properly when I did strangely. all else is fine
