Complete program crash

I was in the middle of the transition into the elixir shop in gullykin, when my program completely crashed. Now when I try to log in with that character the program crashes.

Does the server crash as well, or just you?

There are a number of possible causes. There can be a graphical glitch in the area, causing NWN2 to crash at your end. Or your .BIC file, your character in ALFA's vault, has become corrupted. If that's the case, anyone with vault access can tell you it is. Or it's something else completely.

Anyway, if you crash the server as well (you can check GameSpy to see if it's still up) then please stop trying to log on and contact a DM. If it's just you, try updating your graphics drivers (or downgrading if you recently updated) and ask if the area was changed recently. At this point, IRC is your friend.

It was fixed. Crum somehow pulled a slightly older version my PC to my last location, but somehow checked the box to allow local vault characters, so I didnt really see the servers vault character. When I logged in as my PC at that time, it happened to be the local vault save of my PC, so all i had was the basic 1st level build. After I reached Zirc to help me, and he unchecked the allows local vault button. I found my slightly older version of the PC, and logged on without a crash . But now my PC has lost a point of INT . No real problem, I will just try to wait for some DM help when they have time. Thanks to everyone for being patient with me. I will not try to enter the elixir store in Gullykin ever again.

It could have been a fluke, and you might try entering the store again when you're certain the people to help you out again are available. If there's actually something wrong with that area, the builders will want to know. Even if it only affects a small number of PCs.

I had another client crash when loading my avatar. I was inside the friendly arms inn. There was a fair amount of lag on the server so I logged out and restarted my own internet connection. I restarted my machine and tried to log on with a direct connection. I chose my PC and as it was loading the client had another full crash. I wasnt in an AT this time at all. Crum, logged on and pulled my avatar. I could then loggon, with no effects. This seems to becoming more than a fluke. I dont know if there is anything I can do to help fix it, but let me know if there is, thank you.

Are perhaps your anti-virus or firewall programs trying to interfere?

Exact same problem for me, I too was in friendly arm inn and the game completely crashes when I try to log in now..

just fyi.... there was a thread in bg bugs about this same thing. i believe me and thinkpig had a number of occurances, me outside friendly arm and outside east gate, thinkpig inside friendly arm and east gate as well....

what do you mean by complete crash? the blue screen or windows error message of there has been error, would you like to send report to microsoft? i had the latter...

might want to post in bugs again for wynna, as she was the one attempting to find a fix for this.

The latter for me also. Game completely crashes not windows.

I had it happen to me at the east gate previously also. We believed that it had been sorted now (certainly I've not had the problem at east gate since)
