A Land Far Away

I only recently discovered ALFA (thanks slashdot) & it piqued my interest, i know i have NWN 1 & 2 laying around here somewhere, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I have no problems with all the detailed questions on the signup form & love that you guys seem to actually care about role-playing but...

I havent used gamespy in YEARS, not since its birth in the old quake 1 days, and am very reluctant to install it after looking through their website, it looks like its gotten pretty bloaty.

Do i HAVE to use gamespy to get on ALFA? Is there some other way?

Nope. You need not come within a ten mile radius of gamespy you'll be delighted to hear.

In their infinite wisdom (and possibly just a wee bit of greed) BioWare decided that the login name you use in the game, is called your gamespy ID. It has nothing to do with gamespy, but there you go. It's your gamespy ID. Go figure.
