Compatible DirectX 3D Driver Not Found

Post by Zephyr »

Hi-

I was hoping to join with NWN2, but, after a successful installation I receive an error stating that a compatible DirectX 3D driver wasn't found. My GFX driver is up-to-date. I've been able to run other games before, such as, World of Warcraft, with no issue on max video settings. I dunno if that means anything.

I could be wrong about this, but I'm fairly certain NWN2 does not support integrated graphics solutions. You probably will need to invest in a separate graphics card to run the game.

You will need to check if your motherboard has a PCIe or AGP slot open. If not, then you are likely out of luck with this particular system.

yeah, its the integrated graphics causing the refusal to run. if your machine is a laptop, you are completely out of luck.

I'll have to argue this. :)

By the error message you're indicating, i would gather that the game is looking for a particular version 9c DirectX file. You have 10 installed, which is the default for Vista. I know others encountered this same problem and had to uninstall 10, install 9c, and then install 10 over that, leaving the "not found" 9c files in the system, and thus allowing NWN2 to run.
