CD Key Unauthorized Error

I am away from home and trying to play NWN2 on my laptop. Have the game installed and fully updated and all the ALFA haks DL'd from Worldgate. When I try to log in to TSM I get a message that says "Connection Error -- Your CD Key is not Authorized." I am using the same disc I play with at home -- anyone know what the problem is?

This happened to me. When it happened to me it was after a reinstall and the CD keys I used for the reinstall were different then the ones I used to apply to ALFA. IE: I had 2 versions of NwN2 and thus 2 different CD keys available. It was a matter of going into the Cdrive/programs/Atari/NwN2/ then pulling out the CDkey (its notepad) changing it and replacing it in the folder. When I had the right CD kkeys viola I was access problem free.

Thanks for the info AX. I too have 2 version available. However I tried logging in with both keys and still get the same error message. Can someone in PA send me a PM please as to the CD key registered with ALFA, or otherwise supply some advice. Not a big deal if I can't play on this trip, but it would be nice to play when I am on the road in general. Thanks.

Do you have 2 copies of MotB as well ? I did and it further complicated figuring the right combo to get the server to accept.

Yes. I purchased the Direct2Drive downloadable version specifically to use on my laptop on the road. I experienced a lot of problems with that version, however, so uninstalled it and reinstalled using my discs (the same I have installed at home). I tried the CD key for the D2D version and the CD key for the disc version as you suggested above, but neither one work. I get the same "unauthorized" error message. This is only a problem on my laptop. Weird. Thanks for the help though.
