Anyone with an empty or broken p-chest, please read

It looks like we're missing some pchest contents since the server's hdd went bad. Everyone who's experienced this problem, please post:
1) The area name of the chest.
2) Its general location and/or name in the area, so I can find it.
3) When the last time was you remember it working.
4) If it crashed the server when you opened it!

the day befor Deva went UDing (middle of october?)

bah, crashing it is exagerating it. always lagged the server tremendeously

As previously reported,
Location: Sword's Edge Guild Hall
Known problem chests: Yellow and Iron (there could be others!)
Last known good timing, early October, prior to UD trip like puny above
The Yellow chest many months prior used to lag the server, but it hadn't done that for some months.

Ok, CD mentioned MS had some pstorage disappear, so I looked into this a bit more. Our server's hdd failure was on 2013-09-11. As you can see, Deva's pchest retained its contents over that period, and it vanished sometime between 10-04 and 11-12 (the file is no longer present on the server):

My key to the first chest seems to be gone, or was in the MS chest when it disappeared. Either way, I cannot say if any of my stuff is in it.

Warehouse by the docks in Baldur's Gate, Chest M. Can't for the life of me remember what, if anything, was in it, and I haven't been by to check on it since the whole magic-heist-Toc-betrayal-run-out-of-town-by-dumb-ass-Swords-Edge-assholes affair.

Havent checked Cass' warehouse chest in a long while so wouldnt know. If a DM could check that would be great as I currently have another toon on BG.
Windswept Dunes appartment C i think, Bedroom chest doesnt store items. Has been that way since I got it.

Pchest problems again apparently... maybe something is decaying / going unstable?
Two problems noticed:
First, the "Purple Chest" we got the key respawned for last Wednesday.
1) SE Guildhall
2) "Purple" room
3) Last Wednesday - Ronan had accessed it and said "yep this is the right one", Rhaggot and Merrin got issued keys so we could dump / repurpose goods etc. Pretty significant value of surplus junk (arms, armor, jewels, miscellaneous stuff). This Wednesday it was opened and it was blank 0 items.
4) No server crash.
Second, the Desk in the "Yellow Room"
1) SE Guildhall
2) "Yellow" room
3) It was working last Wednesday and for at least a couple days after, me and Regas had to sort of use it as a holding tank to swap back and forth some semi-completed crafting stuff we were collaborating on (healing wands). There was some "junk" of nominal value in the desk other than such wands, but now it's a 0 item container.
4) No crashes provoked.
...
There is a potential third or more problem, Regas was sharing that some container in the Merrin part of SE guild hall where it had got blanked out, I'd leave details to him.
Getting a little on the side of thinking "something is trending negative here", I'm not opening or closing chests in any different way than I used to like walking away to provoke close vs. clicking an "X" in corner of inventory windows. Mighty strange.

It might be that a particular kind of item is failing to serialize?
Server logs would have a stack if that's the case.

For what it is worth, the "Purple" chest hadn't been opened in months, presumably not since the first problems were noticed. But after a couple open and closes presumably during the same server uptime... I guess the next reset could've emptied it. The inventory did get disturbed when I gather Ronan plucked an old jewel out of it to partially fund an NPC's needs. But other than that I don't think Rhaggot or Merrin disturbed with +/- items.
Same goes with the Yellow room desk, it had constantly had just 4 junk items in it, for months with no +/-, then "it got disturbed with adding 4 empty wands", "those 4 wands got taken out, worked on, put back" and other PC retrieved them. So after that series of +/- disturbs, maybe a reset or more after that it got into empty status.
So it's almost as if "first time you disturb a chest, doing more than look but don't touch", maybe that makes it a candidate for getting fried. Whether this info is helpful in any sense is over to wiser heads than mine.

Your chest's data is cleared and re-saved every time you open it; that's just the way they work (insurance against item duplication exploits-- fat lot of good that does us; see servers' implementations of xp_craft). Means that opening it is disturbing it, and something would have to go wrong while saving it again.
Though if we can demonstrate the same items being put in a chest that's opened/closed repeatedly and eventually getting wiped out, that would help direct investigation. We might want the server's event log too, if that's the case. Might be failing at the file or directory creation level.

Mine sadly doesnt even open. It says i use a key but after that nothing. If i target it after that my toon wont even walk towards it. Thankfully I havent been able to put anything so no loot lost.
