Player Housing

Post by paazin »

There have been a number of inquiries about player housing which the DM team will be glad to look into.

Unfortunately our resources are rather thin and unless someone is willing to assist us by building something like apartments that might be available in BG city, expect a good deal of delay in any response for this.

So, if someone is willing to help make such areas it would be a huge boon.

The major building project that I've been tackling includes a fair amount of space for player housing, and it wouldn't be in-characterly difficult to herd non-evils into those rooms; I could add a slew of unique keys an turn a few static object chests into pChests and have it pretty well ready for use, presumably available after however much in-character time to finish construction elapses.

Probably wouldn't be able to take on a spanking new apartment complex in the near future, though.

If the player builds the interior area, and the area is IC reasonable, then assuming the PC has the IC coin to spend, there's little reason to deny adding the interior to the mod with an AT in an appropriate location, no? Interiors are tiny.

Be the change you want to see in the (game) world.

This will be live shortly. Currently two separate apartment buildings (complete with pchest) in Beregost and Baldur's Gate.

I would suggest attaching player housing to the related interior to the area of where the player is choosing to live.

For example Drake's Keep and Zyrus's house are not a stand alone, it is within the area they lives' interiors.

Using Terracoppa one can take a player made interior and paste it into an existing area. Thus no chooser clutter single areas.

Also you might try not using keys or offering p-chests. It makes it easier to convert them into new "for sale" player housing when that player dies or disappears or retires.

It's officially in! Contact a DM if interested in purchasing a pad complete with private digs and storage.
