Baldur's Gate is Live!!

Post by ayergo »

Log in, grab a brew, have some fun!
There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind

Congrates to the Penguin. I know you've spent a lot of time and energy getting BG up to snuff. Way to go!

Excellent and congrats!

When I get some more time/energy I´ll dig Devon out of naftaline and pay the Sword Coast a visit.

I'm unfamiliar with the mechanics of the enter-connected ALFA server system.

Does BG live mean our PC vaults have been copied over so we can log into BG with our current SM characters?

No. You have to walk there.

We have in the past used a Passport system that is assigned to a server and if you have other server passport yuou will be quarantined till further notice.

Thats how it used to work.

You could log back into the server your passport is good for however,

Congratulations.

Is this an NWN2 first? Perhaps a mention at the Vault, as it is fairly noteworthy, and will be sure to draw a crowd.

K...it seems there is a boat in RM that will take PC's to BG. This is probably the wrong thread to ask, but could someone wipe my BG character vault. I spent some time (not nearly enough to brag about  ) bug testing and foolishly rolled up a PC with the same name as my current PC in SM.

As soon as I get my bio rewritten and submitted I will be looking to start Rugo toward BG (he has long outstanding bussiness there), and it would be confusing to have two versions of him.

Sorry for the trouble.

Beta vault is separate creature from live vault. The "rugo" that you play-tested with on BG should be in the beta-vault. The "live vault" will be interconnected and have only live PCs from either BG or TSM.

Exactly as dergon says. Any characters you have created on a Beta server will still be in your folder on the Beta Vault, and still usable for testing any ALFA Beta server (Western Heartlands, for instance).

The Live servers (in NWN2 that's now TSM and BG) share the same Live Character Vault, so your Live PC can travel between servers. You are still limited to only One PC per Live platform (NWN2 and NWN1). Passage from TSM may be obtained by buying a ticket on the docks at Rivermoot and boarding the ship for the long trip downriver and along the coast south to Baldur's Gate. Instructions are provided as part of the package. If you have problems portalling, or if there's an issue with your PC, you may wind up in Quarantine on your target server. If this happens, please contact a DM for validation. IRC Chat is probably the easiest way to find a DM: TSM DMs can often be found in #alfa-003, and BG DMs will likely be found in #alfa-bg.

You may travel between servers only once per 24 hours Real Life Time. Have fun travelling, and enjoy!!

Any TSM PC who'd like their biography available to the BG team, please drop me a PM - I'll be happy to share with ayergo's crew.

If you don't have a bio already, there is a template you can use here:
