Modest Progress

I recently learned how to do lighting and a bunch of other stuff:

Also learning stores, dialogues, and attempting to make statues to display armor. Having trouble freezing the animation for the 'npcs', though.

those rafters are seriously annoying though, they won't vanish when in front of the camera.

Also how do I make placeables/EOs vanish? I had some tapestries, but removed them after they kept blocking the camera.

Convert them to environmental objects (right click on them in the toolset and Convert).

I think the rafters in question are part of the tileset, not placeables so not sure you can actually click on them. Indio knows better than i though on many of these things.

Awesome job Kest and thank you so much!
There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind

He was referring to the tapestries. Believe I already tried that method but I'll check again, thanks.

Maybe there is an alternative tileset minus the rafters I can use.

Yeah... they still block the camera.

How do I force walkmesh cutters to bake properly? This one used to be fine, but now it is suddenly doing this:

Oh, if that's part of the tileset as Ayergo says then yeah, converting will do nothing. Sorry for the bum steer.

As for your latest issue, I had exactly the same issue working on the areas Ayergo sent me, but never anywhere else using the toolset. So I'm tempted to suggest, however unlikely, that it's specific to your module (not helpful, I know).

I solved the problem by repositioning the cutters, and any placeables, but it is annoying if you need to do this every time you bake.

I'd like to help out on this mod if possible...any jobs needing doing? Interior or exterior.

There were two different things I was attempting to hide from the camera - rafters and tapestries. Rafters are part of the tileset so they are out of the question, but even turning the tapestries into environment objects doesn't stop them from blocking the camera.

Ok. Hmm.

I took a close look at your screens and they're really quite good. Let me know if I can help.

Repainting the trigger seems to have fixed it for now.

Thanks Indio.

When testing this, I found out The Wide was bugged again!

I hope that doesn't cause problems when I ERF this stuff.

The mod crashes while loading
  • ...if question marks are in the Localized Name field.
...if braces that sometimes appear by default are in the Localized Name field.
    ...by copying chatty placeables.
...by adding </i> to a conversation.
...if trying to be tricky with conversations.
...whenever the hell it feels like it.
:tusk:

I can't find a copy of this mod that doesn't have The Wide bugged. How did you fix it again? I'd like to test the changes I made to the merchants there.

I just recently gave the city a facelift, wait a day or so and youll have a much nicer market for those NPCs and you wont have to worry a bit about the old "the wide"
