It's amazing what a well placed whisper into a furry ear can accomplish. *sniffs*Galadorn wrote:hello Holly, did you ever, even mistakenly attack/kill any "critters"?
if so, perhaps the factions changed for you, and now all the critters got together, in the whole realm, printed a crude picture of a decrepid old wrinkled skank... with a "Reward of 5 carrots dead-or-alive" on the bottom, and now you're on their little "Critter APB" blacklist ?....

A now ¼ less lucky rabbit limps back to the Council of Fuzzy Furry Friendly Critters of Low Challenge Ratings with a message: "I'm at least six carrots worth!"Galadorn wrote:perhaps the factions changed for you, and now all the critters got together, in the whole realm, printed a crude picture of a decrepid old wrinkled skank... with a "Reward of 5 carrots dead-or-alive" on the bottom, and now you're on their little "Critter APB" blacklist ?....
Anyway, the problem's fixed now.

Re: BG Bug Thread: 09/23/09
- The PC Tools tent has taken the shape of a bedroll (I approve, btw), but it in its dialogues still referred to as a tent.
- "Boots of the Winterlands", as sold by a random spawn Merchant, have no special property. This despite their description mentioning Endure Elements and being 2725gp a pair.
- She also sold a Spellbook, and a Sack which claims to be a bag but really is an unwearable wearable.
- One of the random spawn random reactions seems to be "Yes, %player_race%?". Which seems a bit odd when one human is calling the other human human.
- Adventurer random NPCs are nameless.

The tailor in Baldur's Gate sometimes doesn't spawn.
Heck why not just add a bell to the front desk which checks if he's there, and if not it spawns him? that way it'd be easy to fix... it's not out of the ordinary to ring a bell to get service in a store anyway right?
or if there is something hindering him from showing up that doesn't require such extra measures, please fix it! The tailor is much missed!

Just wanted to say huge thanks to Paazin for putting up with my wardrobing. Patience is a virtue and apparently he's got tons of it!Xityar wrote:The tailor in Baldur's Gate sometimes doesn't spawn.

- It's probably not BG-specific, but when a PC goes down and the attacking monsters just stand there, they just stand there. Even when a summoned creature is still attacking them.
- Randomly spawning Stags are the size of a small dog.

That bits the bug btw, the summon should return to where it came from if the caster goes unconciousEven when a summoned creature is still attacking them.

Oh? Why? the spell is cast, and it has a fixed duration. Even the caster's death shouldn't make it go away.Sandermann wrote:the summon should return to where it came from if the caster goes unconcious
Though for ALFA, dismissing might be the way to go. Does anyone know what Familiars and Companions do under those circumstances?

Persistent locations are not saved - everybody always logs on in the Starting Area.

Re: BG Bug Thread: 09/23/09
Because a summon is unwilling and the caster needs to be concious to remain in control. When control is lost the summon regains its freewill. So ok, in PnP id have it turn back to whatever behaviour would ordinarily fit the creature, but returning to its native plane seems reasonable.Oh? Why? the spell is cast, and it has a fixed duration. Even the caster's death shouldn't make it go away.
On the Death of a creature in NWN2 their summons return, the same would be true for PCs. Except our PCs do not die (in mechanics terms) they are moved to another location - the fugue plane.

- The randomly spawning weapon Merchant doesn't open his shop.
- Kylanter's horses (Tradeway) are breeding like rabbits, as are those outside the Friendly Arm Inn.
- The "Barn" in Beregost is locked, blocking the "Squeaking Suspicion" quest.
- Father Richar in the Song of the Morning does not recognise Chauntea as his Patron's ally. The Lathander Guards spawn without full health.

Re: BG Bug Thread: 09/23/09
The "store area" of Sorten, the scandalously overpriced ammo salesman in Gullykin may not always cover every angle at which a PC might walk up to him. His dialogue can start without the "Returns Bin" message.
Re: BG Bug Thread: 09/23/09
return bins are required for merchants to operate? if so, that's the likely reason for all the traveling merchants not opening stores after going through dialog and appraise rolls...hollyfant wrote:His dialogue can start without the "Returns Bin" message.

Re: BG Bug Thread: 09/23/09
IMO, not all merchants should be required to have a return bin.

He only sells default stuff, so really he doesn't need one. But he does have one, and I think its triggering area isn't large enough. That's all.
