Does BG have a system or preferred way in which PCs might acquire specially tooled up items? Can we make our own stuff and if so: to whom? Is there a module-specific rule for tags and resrefs? Do any IC requirements have to be met, beforehand or afterwards?
Can I get a pony?

Contact a DM about all questions. It's on a case by case basis.hollyfant wrote:Does BG have a system or preferred way in which PCs might acquire specially tooled up items? People talk of bestial cruelty, but that's a great injustice and insult to the beasts; a beast can never be so cruel as man, so artistically cruel.

If you want custom looking armor or items but do not know how to toolset the items yourself, I am willing to create them for you so long as HDM Paazin blesses off on the item.

Re: toolin' personalised gear
I like the Tailor system quite a bit, though I gather there's either bugginess or a learning curve to coloring.
Recently the weapon customization end of things got chopped off, not a bug but a design choice. Paazin already agreed to think about it in IRC but I assume everyone there is usually drunk off their ass so I figured I'd post the thought here as well.
Even if it seems "OOC" to have a guy pretty up weaponry, it's no more OOC than prettying up shields and intricate multi-month armorer projects in an instant either. "Pret a Porter" is desirable for freeing up DM time and player time too, I'm hating even trying to figure out toolset appearances when such nice systems can show you choice-by-choice in game.
Thanks for thinking further about it.

Don't expect this to be added in again, ever. We can add simple-looking weapons that act poorly, but I don't want to have to deal with someone making their +2 maul looking like a board with a nail through it.

Fair enough... I'm having a devil of a time screwing around with toolsetting, maybe this will light a fire for me to learn how to design and erf up things.
