I will soon begin DMing on Baldur's Gate. I don't have a DM manifesto or philosophy so this should be a short intro.
It can be summarized as" "Don't expect too much."

It's been nearly 8 years since I stopped DMing at the tabletop, >5 years since I stopped DMing OAS1, and have barely touched the client in NWN2. Couple that to a limited canonical background on the BG region, limited ingame experience on the server and very low tech skills, I expect there to be a steep learning curve.
I would expect my games to often resemble PnP D&D 3.5 and, since I have limited twitch skills, will probably be very turn based with liberal use of the pause button. Feel free to ask for skill checks. I like a lot of opposed rolls.
As in my PnP world I often do not scale encounters to ensure victory by the PCs in every episode. If a force looks overwhelming, it probably is.
So as not to do horrible damage to other plotlines and canon, I plan to run my initial campaign out of the backwater of Nashkel. More info forthcoming on that in a separate thread. (I'll probably make an IC thread and an OOC thread for it )
Anyway, please be patient and have fun!

PS- If you know how to build simple stuff (interiors, a small area, a dungeon .......anything!
