Couple of questions

Hey all, still learning the ropes around BG, and I'm wondering if someone would be willing to help out a n00b.

1) Is there an available resource with info on teh current state of affairs in BG? I'm talking political, religious, that kind of thing. I have a lot of old resources on it, but of course, time moves on, and I'm wondering the immediate situations. Stuff that is not meta, but that every PC would/should know.

2) I don't suppose there is a map of the area, even a stylized one made up by someone's kid drawing it? I was ported to meet up with the party the other night, to the FA Inn, and when I logged on after, I had no idea how to get back to BG. Thankfully, another character logged in,and pointed me in the right direction. Still, it was a harrowing half hour wandering the roads, at night even.

3) I sent off my PC bio, but I wanted to make sure it was recieved. Please, let me know.

4) And finally, just another thanks, for all the players who have been so helpful, and welcomed me to the server. I really apreciate it.

I'm afraid I can't answer all your questions as I'm both short on time and the knowledge of current events even I'd like to have, but I can suggest something that might help. Unless I'm mistaken, there should be several ways of acquiring a pdf file of the map of the sword coast region around BG, especially if you googlesearch images of the original BG1 and Tales of the Sword Coast campaign computer games. They're stylized, yet very informative. Look for such websites as those that deal in *ahem* walkthroughs and cheats for BG1/TotSC and you should be on the right path.
