Salutations

Post by Omegasage »

Hey, my name is Matthew. I'm pretty new to this, haven't even completed the OC:MOTB I'm so new, lol.

Not sure what to say...
Firstly, I'm a Christian, and my faith is the most important thing to me. I do understand the difference between RP and OOC stuff, so it'll have minimal impact on my PC.

I tend to go alt crazy, so I lie your one PC per player policy, it'll help me keep focused and I'll actually make some progress that way. :)

I'm 27, looking for a job, and I have a gf.

I'm very computer literate, with varying degree in skill of many different programs, and I've even dabbled a bit in C/C++. I do know HTML as well, well, sorta. I know enough that I can fix code that I don't understand, if that makes any sense. EXAMPLE: a friend was trying to do something with his website, but couldn't get it to work. I went in, not knowing any of the code, but knowing the syntex was able to spot some errors. I deleted three lines (placeholders really) and everything worked perfectly. :D

Anything else you wanna know, just ask.

Thank you for accepting my application, and for the swift response I received when I had that issue with my password.

Welcome. FYI we actually eased up on the single PC around start of March, some of our website info may be outdated. There are metagaming and "turf" limitations though to distances being kept between two PCs , which are manageable in a 4 server project, really boils down to not going where another PC is, or has been for 30 days. So if you've got some thief in Moonshaes, your fighter from Baldur's Gate can't go visit until the thief has cleared out, and been gone that little while. Fighter won't mysteriously know all the ins and outs of the underworld of thiefly doings in MS either.

Again, welcome, have fun.

Welcome Omegasage, (I will likely call you Sage unless you smack me)

Yes, you will get to check out a couple of servers at the same time now with the new policy. Usually going by which ever server is active when you have time to play is the best if you are looking for the most interaction with dms and other players.

If you have questions don't be afraid to post in the forums, send a tell in game to another player, or hop on the irc channel (be patient though if you send a tell in game and there are multiple players or dms on as they may have hands full and can't get back to you right away)

I read that as volunteering to do scripting :D

Hi Omega and welcome! (Notice how I just rejected Max's idea to call you Sage and am pushing Omega? Smooth, eh?)

No worries about not completing the OC ... I think I played the original for an hour or two and got bored. No game can compare with interacting with an actual intelligence behind the screen. That's why we are all here.

We'll be looking forward to you in-game.

Welcome!

Your real name is awesome.

If you need any help, have any questions, please send a tell and ask anything anytime in game or here for that matter, but when in game something might happen there and you may wonder "Why?" or "hmm.." or "WTTTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF??!" ...so feel free to ask anytime, and good luck!

Hi! Welcome!!

and like everyone else said (or should have) feel free to ask any questions, here, irc, pms tells ic tells etc

the players guide and documentation is under work and not yet fully reliable (tho' i know that matti works hard on updating it so that the information there reflects the "reality" ingame when it comes to skills/feats/features/functions etc etc) so asking is the way to go if you want to know how things works.

also! good luck with your 2nd character!

Welcome to ALFA. I never beat the OC either, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Welcome, welcome, welcome.

Forgive me if I'm odd, I can't help it... but I'm a lovable odd. :)

Don't be shy. I'll look for you In Game (IG) for some In Character (IC) Role Play (RP) and advice to leave the Out Of Character (OOC) for forums and chat (IRC) unless you have a how to question, then fire a [TELL] /t "character name" and ask away.

SO to review; I'll look for you IG, for IC RP, no OOC but on IRC, TELL friendly. Cheers!
I doubt, therefore; I might be
Calil - Elf maid depicted in profile picture.
Bellie - Small woman from Lowhill with big attitude - see below

Hi OS! Looking forward to gaming with you! Unless you found the DMing time forums already, please post your gametimes here, and odds are you could be hooked to some DM-led adventuring :)
For example, I'm DMing the Euro evenings every Monday on Baldur's Gate. So welcome if that suits you RL schedule!

Thank you for the warm replies all. :)

As I'm look for a job ATM my availability is very open. I'll find RP reasons for my char's "switching it up" if my next job conflicts with any RPs I'm in the middle of. Already involved in TSW with Muiri and a few others. (sorry, horribel at names!)

As for what to call me, most people like to call me Omega, I think Maxcell is only the second person to call me Sage (and the first was because I was mistaken for someone else, lol). I some ways, I almost prefer it though, cause that's kinda what the name meant when I created it so many years ago anyways. Omega (last, final, etc) Sage (wise, story-teller, etc). I actually one guy calling me OmegaSage IRL, now that was awkward! When it comes down to it though, I really don't care what you call me. :)

Yes, I was volunteering for scripting, call me wierd, but I kinda sorta actually maybe possibly might just a tiny weeny itsy bitsy bit find some possible pleasurous joyous glee from such a thing, maybe.

EDIT: Forgot to ask, how does EURO time convert to EST? I''ll gladly check out that BG RP t-Ice.

Don't worry about finding IC reason to change times you play. Time flys by on ALFA, 7x as fast, so if you play 3 hours, more than a whole day has gone by. At least, for now.

At any ALFAcon, I won't ever call anyone by their real names. Just ALFA callnames. I don't even wanna know all your names!

I wanna drink with puny, B00M, Rumple, Ithildur, smoothie, Loulabelle, Castano, and MaskedIllusion....and OMEGASAGE.

((but later on in the pints, i'll be calling you OMEGASAUCE.))

To the nine hells with: "Bill, Tom, Dick, Harry, Jenny, and Moe." pffft.. ;-)
