Of course, I am on a mac, and I haven't even started the updating process yet so you might be spared a little longer. Are there any Mac users out there willing to handhold me through the process? I offer cookies and a free spank.

Hello, hello! Having played with a number of ALFA players on nwn1, I've finally been convinced by ithildur to try ALFA as my first nwn2 server. Therefore, you can blame him for inflicting me on you poor unsuspecting souls.

Welcome aboard Lakhena, you'll find people pretty responsive to posts about technical problems. I have no experience with Macs myself but I'm sure the community can come up with solutions for any difficulty you may have.

Hello, hello! Welcome to ALFA, and good luck with your second character.
As for the Mac thing: I thinks most Maccers (Macheads? Macochists?
) use bootcamp to play the game in windows.

Bootcamp? Icky! I'd love to hear from someone not doing the bootcamp route as I already have the Mac version of nwn2 and I'd rather not have to buy another copy. I've waited this long.... *remains stubborn*

Re: *spank*
there's a mac version of nwn2?? huh. I would love to hear how this works out for you as Mr. Mirabai is on a mac and we were just considering investing $200 to buy windows and run nwn2 through bootcamp.
also, welcome!

While there may be a mac version of NWN2, I'm not sure if it's been patched up to 1.23 yet, nor if both MotB and SoZ are available in mac versions.
This thread is not clear on these points either.

Re: *spank*
As I understand it, the Macionistas have three options:
Also:
- install the windows version of Storm of Zehir on their Mac - supposedly with some trickery it's possible.
- Use Wine, or another windows emulator.
- Bootcamp.
Also:
I'm not a lawyer, your mileage may vary and some restrictions apply, but it may be legal/certainly would be ethical/could perhaps work to "torrent" a windows version and then use the registration code of your bought game. Although a full pack NWN2+MotB+SoZ shouldn't be too expensive by now.lakhena wrote:as I already have the Mac version of nwn2 and I'd rather not have to buy another copy.

Re: *spank*
Possible good news; apparently Lakhena's been doing some hunting around the NWN2 forums and may have tracked down a way for Mac owners to play with mobt and soz.
Stay tuned...

Re: *spank*
I found some unofficial mac patch files to add on to the expansion packs, but I haven't received a copy of the expansions yet... it's supposed to come tomorrow!
Has any mac user tried the files found here?
