A Land Far Away

Hello, hello!

I'm sorta new to the online aspects of NWN/NWN2 so please bear with me if I make a lot of errors or seem kinda newbish. I'd like to first say thanks for letting me play, I hope to play as much as I can in my spare time (full time college student, not a lot of fun).

I currently only have NWN1 installed and that might change soon because I have to reformat my PC in the near future (disk boot read error, bleh). But until that point I'm gonna try to play as much as I can. I do have a few questions though: 1) I have NWN: Diamond edition, is that all I need to play? (I don't think it has all of the expansiosn for NWN1), and 2) in the NWN download section I managed to get all of the .hak files, but when I tried to download the alfa_1_8.tlk file, I was sent to a '404 page not found'. Any way I could get some help with that?

So until then, i'm going to be thinking of some character concepts!

Welcome to ALFA. I notified one of the bigwigs about your problem with the NWN1 haks so hopefully you will get some help ASAP.

I have one more question though. I'm attempting to connect to the Waterdeep server for NWN1, says it found it, but the password is inncorrect. I looked through some of the forums for the Waterdeep server but couldn't find anything pertaining to a password. Even tried my password for logging in here, that didn't work either. If you can't post it here a private message or something would be extremely helpful, thanks!

Umm...

Could be because we don't have a Waterdeep server?

Currently the only real playable server for Neverwinter Nights 1 is Sembia, I'm afraid. NWN1 is certainly nearing the end of it's days, with only a couple of nights a week of game play. However, there are still a few of us who have a ball there

If you're wanting more regular play, I'd seriously suggest NWN2.

That's not what the NWN live servers forums say... but ok. Hrm, yeah I know I need to re-install NWN2, I just don't wanna go through all that hassle and then have to do it -again- after I reformat. Plus I don't have the newest expansion, so I don't think I can play on those servers anyway

Welcome aboard, matey!

You'll probably want to get NWN2 soon, the NWN1 servers aren't being used much anymore. There are some campaigns ongoing in NWN1 (and probably someone will post soon and tell you about them), but as I understand it they are pretty much play at appointed time situations. NWN2 has two servers up so far, and it is log in anytime and have fun.
