Hello everyone playing ALFA.

I feel like a tard, but I really can't figure out how to log on to ALFA. I got my written application accepted, and I've done what I was told to do in Method One here: http://www.alandfaraway.org/forums/view ... 33&t=37003, but now what? :\

Help would be greatly appreciated...

Which server were you hoping to try?

If you are trying to log on to our NWN2 server, The Silver Marches, I am sad to report that it is currently down until the host returns home from the holidays some time on Sunday.

I have no idea of any servers. This is somewhat of a jungle to me still.
How would I do to log onto any one of them..? Do I need to download something more?

Typicaly the best bet is to direct connect using the IP and password. However, if you go to the gamespy list, you will see the various ALFA servers under the PW Story category. You can find your password to the ALFA003 server here: http://www.alandfaraway.org/servers

However you should note that the current running server is down for a couple of days (ALFA03 The Silver Marches). There are several other servers, including Beta servers, however those require other files to play in at this time. I would recommend, if you are really itching to play possibly trying out the OAS servers.

I recommend personally using method two of installing the files over method one since you will need Worldgate client to play on the main server anyhow. Use this page to see what you should download: http://www.alandfaraway.org/node/880. I reccomend downloading the things you will need under the sections "TLK", "PWC's" (Under PWC's you only need the file for the server you wish to play on, ei. The Silver Marches.) and "Automatic Downloads using WorldGate". You should be able to skip the sections covering "Portraits" and "Downloading the Hak's manually".

Also, does anyone know at this time if updated to the newest current version of NWN2 from Obsidian will cause you to outdate the server? If so you may have to manually patch up to a particular version since the server may have not been updated to the newest version of NWN2.

What you've downloaded from that link would be the files you need for OAS2.

If you start NWN2 and choose Multiplayer, you will be prompted to log on with your "Bioware Community Name". If you have one already, enter it in the appropriate box and plug in your password. If not, you'll have to create one using the Create New Account button. Once you've done this and Signed In, select Join Internet Game. A list of games available should come up. From the Game Type box on the upper left of the screen, choose "PW Story". Click on the Server tab, and the servers should sort alphabetically. ALFA servers will appear on top. You should see the ALFA Open Application Server listed in white print. No password is required to play on the OAS. Select the name and click on "Connect".

Not to mention our Live NwN2 serever is down for the holiday The Silver Marsh servers should be back online tomorrow (28th) sometime.

There are haks to be downloaded of course and familiarizer yourself with where to get the password.

Once he/shes back online then logg in and play. Not much playing going on these days as the host escaped for the holidays. Someone needs to build a better cage.

No, I've heard that about the second character from my friend who was an old gamer in ALFA for NWN1...
But I shall do my best to stay alive as long as possible... :p

How do I log into The Silver Marches? What's the password?

Look in PW Story for ALFA The Silver Marches

Password should be viewable at this weblink: http://www.alandfaraway.org/servers

If not, you will need to PM Zicada for access setup.

Let me know if you need more assistance... I'll be home in about 1 hour.
