Into the light...

Darkness. Darkness was all that was there. Wait, light. Light, dancing, moving, hovering. A torch. Yes, that's what it was. Held high, but not needed. For the mere convenience of it's warmth was it used.
The man holding it was running, he could feel the cool air of what lay just a few steps further of his dark home. He came to it, the exit. Freedom lay beyond, freedom of the darkness. He did not like it, the darkness. He had not been born there, and yet, he was asked to go there every year.
He sighed as he stared upon what was now in front of him. Mountains, beautiful even in starlight. Beyond, a great forest, home of his people, or rather his clan of them. To often did he have to leave his precious surface, to often did the darkness take him.
OOC: Hi folks, well, I've finally decided to dig out my copy of NWN1 and play online for once, something I've never done yet, and I hope this'll be a good place to do it... huzzay...
