Heya friends!
I'm Little Cub! Thank you very much for accepting my application. I'm honored - no kidding.
I've read quite a bit about ALFA on the forums and I'm impressed with the quality and efforts folks have contributed to this place. Folks obviously care very much about ALFA and NWN, and it's that kind of care that makes for long-lasting RPGs.
While I'm new to ALFA, I'm even newer to NWN 1. My copy of the Diamond Edition has arrived and I'm eager to learn how to play. It's also been quite a while since I've played Forgotten Realms, a fantasy setting I always respected, but never until now had the opportunity to completely immerse myself into.
On that note, the background I've made up for my first character, Kath of the Broken River (or Kath Riversbane), is only as well-researched as Wiki would allow. Please consider it a rough draft. Kath's complete background is much longer and deeper, and tells of her time with her beloved father, Shalin.
I've never played a game like NWN. I currently play Guild Wars and Everquest 2 (and while the latter may change, I'm sure the former won't). I have precious little experience with IRC, gaming servers, and what not. I'll gratefully accept any advice folks here have to share.
While I'm new to NWN and ALFA, I'm far from new at Roleplaying. In fact, I've over 22 years in this wonderful hobby and I like chatting and helping folks learn about it.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Legionaire, your HDM for Shadowdale, whom my lady and I know in Guild Wars as Phoenix. "Phoe's" been a real friend and guildmate for some time now, and he's introduced me to NWN 1. If this game and this guild are that special to him, then I have full confidence that both are wonderful and worthy of my time. Thanks for introducing me to ALFA and NWN, Phoe!
And thank you folks for accepting me as an applicant.
Honor and fun,
Little Cub
P.S. I am now going to install NWN and attempt to play it. Wish me luck!

The smell of rotting meat, very ripe pore rings and year old packages of Marbero Lights waff the air. Echoing screams could be heard for miles around. The Lightening... OMG, the Lightening...

Little Cub chewed his way through the robs that bound him and after taking stock of hs situation, looted the many tables of nifty items, many times over the wealth limit of a typical Lasting for 15 minute Lvl 1 Noob PC. He didn't worry about the Pink Haired Halfling that had befriended him, lured him to his doom and painted his toe nails blue and green, alternately.
What he did recall was how fast the hin ran east, through the walls and trees and unfortunate kobolds inbetween (Gunnm quailty gore here) once those Lightening bolts start hit near then...

<Gebb> ok, what does it mean to be "huggled"? <spidroth_esq> Something terrible. <Squamatus> buggered <Dran> sodomised <Squamatus> by an acorn on a stick <tresca> LOL <Gebb> that didn't help <alynn>

Thanks, everyone!
I look forward to gaming with you, too! Please send me a tell sometime if you'd like to team up or RP!
I'm currently playing "Ragnar the Bold" of Tyr, a paladin and all-around friendly, heroic fun-guy of a character. I'll be learning the game with him, and then I'll toss Kath into the fun.
Does anyone out there have any recommendations of any kind for a new-person?
Oh, and as for that silly-person Legionnaire, I wouldn't be playing yet were it not for his help... Boy, did I have serious technical and new-person issues getting started. Thanks again, you!
Honor and fun,
Little Cub

Welcome to ALFA!
Depending on your schedule I would suggest the lowbie campaign Legio runs on SD oten starting in Ashabenford or Brim's campaign also in Ashabenford if he can justify you joining.
And as has been already said good luck with your second character:)
