Haaaa-dee-haaaw !

Post by GLForce »

Well, i got accepted ! Those hackpacks are huge, but i will join you soon. I'm ready for the "good luck on your second character", but it brings two questions :

First, if i did a written application, am i forced to play with the character i have described first ?

Secondly, when I create a new character (after dying :? ) Do i need some sort of DM approval or anything ?

Thanks and... have fun with me :)

The character bio in your written app was an example of the sort of character you might play, you are not bound to it in any way, it's more a tool for the reviewers to judge your perspective by. Many folks (myself included) go ahead and start with that PC (after all, you've already thought it through), though yes, distressingly, the first doesn't tend to last long.

Basically, the policy on starting new PCs is simple, once you play a PC, you can never go back to any previous ones, alive or dead. So, if you roll up a new PC and log into an ALFA server with it, all prior PCs are considered "retired" and permanently so. So long as you don't go back to any previous PCs, you'll be fine in terms of the rules.

As far as DM "approval" goes, it is sometimes helpful to discuss concepts with the DM staff of your chosen server, though not at all necessary.

I would recommend asking on #alfa on IRC, though a certain degree of patience is typically required.

Welcome, and good luck with ALFA, hope you find a good player/DM/server/time arrangement soon.

Sometimes the concept you have on your mind might not fit the server. If you feel that's the case you can discuss it with a DM, but you don't need DM approval to roll up a new PC.
