Unless you have a cleric friend with a raise dead spell, which you don't have 99.9 % of time... Yes. If the death was somehow unfair you can try contacting a dm but do not expect a automatic tech resurrection.

And if so should you still use the same name?

Never make two characters with the same name.

no same names..if people have rp'd with the previous pc and you make a new one with same name etc...well then..just not good for server RP..

Be creative enough to change some aspects of the pc around enough to make it different and unique from the previous pc...

Or go out on a limb and try something new.

I've got lists of names stored in me brain pan.

most are strange colors followed by an object.

Right now i'm playing the character I wrote the bio for.....Amethyst Skie.
If.....when she dies I'll probably move into Vermillion Tooth.
