Hello everyone! I just sent in an application (couldn't get into the NWN2 Open Application Server D: ), and hope to be part of the ALFA community soon.

However, my character's biography is likely to be seen as somewhat under par, as I wrote it and sent it in before I had a look at (or even knew of) the bio template. Is there any way I could send in an amended version of his biography for the reviewers to take into consideration when looking at my application? Who would I send it to, etc.?

Well, I had assumed that since the NWN2 OAS was still in beta, I wouldn't be able to get on until I had filled out an application, been accepted, and given the password (the server asked me for one when I tried to join it earlier). Is this the case, or should I be able to log on to the NWN2 OAS without going through all this? If so, where can I find the password?

Hey Thursday,

Thanks for applying! First to answer your recent question. The OAS2 is still officially in beta until April 1st when we go live there and the server will no longer have a password. Alfa's 1st Live server, The Silver Marches 003, is set for April 15th, and that is where accepted players will be sent to play until more servers go live later in the year.

You can go ahead and PM me your updated bio if you wish and I will make sure it gets posted to your application.

There--the biography update is now PM'ed. Thanks for the fast replies! I'll probably be checking out the OAS because I'm pretty new to actual roleplaying.

When should I be expecting the review of my application to be finished?

Somewhere on this site it says "no more than 7 business days". Some people have said their app was approved in 2-3 days, and some (like me) took the whole 7 days to hear back. It's an anxious wait, though, so good luck!

"Unfortunately, based on your written application, the Application Review Team is unable to determine if ALFA is a suitable community for you."

You guys must be pretty exclusive--I put my heart into that bio. I'm probably still going to give the OAS2 a try when it comes out of beta here in a few days. If, however, ALFA proves to be an unsuitable community for me, what other similar PWs do you know of for NWN2 that may be a little lighter on the RP, though still have plenty of the choices and consequences that are typically absent from mainstream MMOs?

The written app has its limitations Thursday, that is why we are moving to get as many applicants on the OAS2 as possible, so the DMs can interact directly with you rather than a form. Sounds good. I got all the files that I can download through WorldGate. What else do I need? I read something somewhere about optional content, but I figured it was referring to the NWN1 servers.

No, if you used the Worldgate method then you will not only have all the files for the OAS2, but you will have also gotten all of Alfa's haks needed for the live servers when they come on.

Note: Recent updates to the OAS2 may not be reflected in your files, so to be safe. Run Worldgate again tomorrow when the new OAS2 mod has been uploaded (or when AL posts that it has)

Alright--a few more questions. I haven't been able to be on much for the past few days, so I PM'ed dan with these questions, but since I imagine he's got his hands tied trying to get NWN2 alive again, the public would be just as good at answering them. I've been having a great time since day one on the OAS2, and have been part of a number of DM-run quests and other interactions. My character now has a good IC reason to be traveling to Silvy, but can't, since I haven't been accepted yet. The main thing I can think of that might be an impediment to my acceptance is my character's bio, or rather the official lack thereof. My question: do I need to send in the bio of my character to you higher-ups before he qualifies for acceptance? I noticed that it might have been useful to DMs in a number of circumstances, so this has been my hunch. I didn't want to put it in the 'bio' section the game, since it seems rather cheesy to me to be able to 'examine' someone and suddenly know their life's history. No DM's ever asked me for it, though, so I was unsure if I needed to do actually bother with it yet.

If this is the case, who should I send it to? If not, what do I need to focus on to get acceptance?
