Hey -- all four of your PC hooks sound highly playable and fun. Save 'em. 'Cause unless you're very lucky, very conservative or a bit of both you'll need every one of 'em. (I just started my third PC live and lost another three on the OAS)

You can create as many PCs as you like (alive or dead) on the OAS--it's great for trying out concepts ands such.

In ALFA live you can (and likely will) create many characters. However, only one can be active. Any previously created PC has to be retired or dead before you can play with the next. And once you play the next PC you can't go back to an old one.

As far as Morgue goes -- your character will stay there forever until raised. However, there is ingame corpse decay which means that after a RL period of time there is no standard IC way to get him raised. On the OAS there is no standard means of raise dead either (no clerics powerful enough to do it), so once your dead that's preetty much it.

The PC will continue to be located in your vault forever until deleted by someone with the authority to do so.

check this out for more info on that.

2. Neutral good wizard. This character is very interested in magic and to research spells and spell components. He likes to read about magic. He is interested in the old Netheril society and his diety is ofcourse Mystra. He knows nothing about adventuring. He has lived a secluded life in some tower or similar. I've heard Silverymoon whould be a good place for this character. I'm thinking this character whould start out a peaceful life and eventually get drawn into adventure, against his will. This character whould complain if he has to walk in the rain or get his shoes dirty, but he whould learn to become an adventurer or a force against evil to recon with.
If you go this route upon acceptance, let me know in the TSM forums or by PM. You'd be welcome at the University of Silverymoon!
Enjoy the game

Oh, my... Now I'm getting confused. :? I've been browsing through the boards here this Christmas afternoon wondering what kind of character I should chose and where to play it, if someone will let me into a server somewhere. *Sigh* I was thinking maybe The Frozen North whould suit me better. Seems like there are some DM's there within my time zone (GMT+1), Daggerdale also sounds interesting, because someone has written a history background about that region. I whould like to see a history background of all servers here. It whould make it easier to figure out what kind of character to play. Ok, this is what I have in mind.... Either a chaotic good ranger or a lawful good mage. Both characters are human and have grown up in a small village where mostly humans live. Where whould such characters fit in? I'm going to work on theese characters this weekend. After I've spent a few hours with my folks this Christmas eve, eating a few ribs and ripped up some presents (thankyou and Merry christmas, have to run, see ya), I will have time for digging into this completely until next year.
