Alae Friends

Hi there just checked my e-mail and was very happy to see my ALFA acceptance there! I've fired up NWN2 and am currently downloading all the info needed to play, and so whilst that's trundling along I thought it only polite to say hello here.
I'm Paul, 28 and from the rather dreary English city of Sunderland. I'm a massive FR fan and have been for neigh on 14 years since I first played Baldur's Gate. The addiction began there and since I have played every DnD/FR computer game (even Demonstone), managed to pretty much complete the set of FR books (227 and counting) and also read every 'Ask Ed' to date.
RP wise I am pretty new I must admit, never had friends or people/groups local who were into DnD so have never had the PnP experience. That said I did play a lot of the interactive Fighting Fantasy stuff and also was part of an adventuring party on Warhammer Quest... had a quick root in the loft and I still have the character sheets... Karl Breistein the stoic witch-hunter and my favourite Arien Greenleaf (RIP). Have played a wide variety of MMORPG including RP on WoW and LotRo, as well as Conan, Eve, Darkfall and Mortal Online.
Recently re-installed NWN2 and was searching for extra modules and discovered PW for the first time so started looking about for something that would fit. Saw ALFA on the vault and was really impressed with the description there, wasn't too optimistic about being accepted but here I am.
Anyhow this post is really far too long for an introduction and I'm nearly finished downloading the third server info so I'll wrap it all up. I'm going to read through the forums and try not to rush into character creation/server. I'm in England so I think it's going to the Moonshae or the Marches for me as that seems to be where the GMT players lie.
Look forward to meeting, loving, hating and fighting the lot of you :D and I hope my verbosity hasn't bored you to tears

Paul

Welcome aboard indeed! Find out when players are on when you can play by using the server indicators at the top left of the screen, and get in game!

if you're from the UK, I plan to run weekly sessions on the Baldur's Gate server starting pretty soon. It'll likely run on a weekday and in the evening (I live in Birmingham) so that might be a good option!

Nice to see an informative intelligent intro..Thank-you..just a couple notes..Leveling in Alfa usually slow compared to the OC but also more interaction with real people..more expression of who your char is rather than just what it does. hope you ernjoy..try not to evcer solo and have fun:D

Make sure you log into the IRC chat if you have any questions. Its the best place to solve tech issues and meet people and find what server might be best for you. Welcome! :party2:

Welcome aboard, such an avid fan of the FR setting should fit in well here, we might have to polish you up first as far as the player gui (making dice rolls and such). I'd be more than happy to do a small OOC session with you on mastering the player client if you're ever in The Silver Marches. :)
