I'm giving ALFA another go!

Post by Saeasco »

Hello again!

I'm an old-new user here in ALFA - I briefly logged on a long time ago, but due to real life issues I never really played. Now I intend to give it another go, and am itching to get some nice roleplaying experiences.

Do I have to make a new character application to start another character than the one I intended to use when I first registered, or can I simply create one using the guidelines I've seen in the Player's Guide to ALFA? If I want to play something extraordinary, or have a detailed idea I need DM help with, who should I message?

Thanks, and see you in game! :)

Welcome back!

If you can see the password here: http://www.alandfaraway.org/servers

You are all set.

You needn't play the original concept. If you havea pretty "standard" D7D character just roll him/her up and start playing. This is certainly the easiest way to go.

If you really do want to play an "extraordinary PC" ( i think Tieflings, genasi, half-drow all fit there) then send a PM to the HDM of the server upon wish you plan to start play.

You can also find help in IRC chat at #alandfaraway

Good luck and see ya ingame! :)

Welcome very much!

Big suggestion: Go with an "extraordinary PC" of a NON-extraordinary race. :) Still get the return without the silly KoS or the triple XP needed to level...

What does KoS mean?
I have a character waiting for approval on Moonshae now. 8) I can't wait!

I think you don't need approval unless the game engine tells you that you need it.

Are you able to enter the game world?

If you have already been accepted to ALFA, and your character concept isn't drow or tiefling or genasi or some such then you should just be able to log in. You don't need specific approval for a generic "human wizard" or "hafling rogue" or "half-orc barbarian"
What does KoS mean?
"Kill on Sight"

Many players on ALFA would consider, for example, a drow elf to be a creature to be addressed immediately with violence in some FR locales.

And yet others might just ask if you were a friend of their husbands and offer you light refreshments. It's all rather subjective. Good luck with whatever you decide. To play, and I hope to see you in game.
