Re: Quick Guide to 1.23 Changes

Post by AcadiusLost »

Tried to get the switchover in this weekend, but ran into a particularly elusive bug with TSM that wasn't resolved until the late hours of Sunday night. Should be able to move to 1.23 this evening though, for both servers.

Members who wish a "preview" or to test rebuilding their PCs before then should contact me via IRC.

For those pre-planning their make-over: in addition to the already mentioned skills, there's also
  • Craft: Alchemy
  • Craft: Armorsmithing
  • Craft: Bowmaking
  • Craft: Weaponsmithing
  • Handle Animal

Should not the "Quick Guide to ALFA Character Changes" be moved to / merged with the Player's Guide?

Would be a lot easier to find it then. Also more information about the skill changes / how the skills work would be nice. Like swimming while wearing a fullplate.

You're -12 to this check, and are probably going to drown.

You can find the descriptions of skills inside of the actual skills in game (that is, click the skill on your character sheet and read the stuff in the top half of the window)-- that is where you'll find stuff like swim having a double ACP penalty.

For the rest of this, we upgraded to 1.23 back in 2009. This thread is obsolete, and should probably be unstickied.

Probably not.

Use the wiki, and ideally use it like a wiki-- add things that are missing and correct things that're wrong. There's way too much to know about our game to assume it can be handled by leaning on one person to provide all of a community's knowledge.

Good idea. Perhaps updating the first post to link to the wiki would be wise.
