Greetings ALFA members!

I am Ronan, and it has been..... far too long since I have enjoyed a nice session of NwN2 RP lol. I just wanted to make a thread here and say how excited I am about being able to RP with you all soon, and to introduce myself and say hello. <3

Unfortunately, since my acceptance onto the forums here I have been unable to login as of yet..... somewhat due to several things that have conspired to fill the time of my recent evenings, yet mostly due to brain cloggage and my inability to come up with a decent character and background to start as yet. Always the hardest part for me, coming up with the basic character concept..... especially a cool name lol.

Hopefully I'll come up with something soon, and see some of you online then. I look forward to meeting you all.

There's always the "throw away" PC. Just log in and start playing. You don't need a high minded concept to start!

Don't forget to use IRC chat as a resource and check around to find out which server has people in your timezone!

take your time figuring things out if you're one to play things slow. If you wander around the servers alone you'll probably get dead, so if you're inclined to do that in the slightest I suggest you make a character witha rather generic background and build on it if you happen to survive.

I hope you enjoy things, servers are a bit slow right now due to some technically issues, but yes please join #alfa-players on irc.sorcery.net to get the best information you can from all of us who are active, it really is the best resource for new folk

Currently we have issues with our shared character vault so any character you create won't be there when we resume our normal setting.

Therefore you can test some character concepts and when we switch back to our normal configuration you can re-create the character you liked the most.

And as for a name: try hitting the random name generator button a few times - some of them aren't that bad...

They're horrid! They spit out names like "Torrche" (should I pronounce like a burning stick or rotational force?) and "Whoesh." I usually raid baby name sites, and snag an antiquated one. Or any Welsh one, because there are like five Welsh people in the world, and I don't think any of them play here. And all of their names both sound like and mean "Dude with a sword." Even the girls' names.

Aaaaaand I'm back. I hit a large delay in trying out your wonderful servers due to a family emergency and needing to take care of a family member after their surgery. I have not forgotten, however, and still greatly look forward to trying here..... just probably with less log on hours than before. :/
