A shield to carry around if you can use one, even if you don't use it in combat. If you need to flee a mob that has ranged attacks, equip it, the few extra AC could save your arse.
have everything ready to go in quickbar

Most important

extreme caution, though not as dangerous as the NWN1 servers, the build team seems to be rectifying the situation rapidly.
don't run (into a brown bear for example). Walking allows you to see the threat before it sees you. Mostly.
a Group of Adventurers
Very nice, simple thinking from ElCad

One additional piece I often give to people is....

Don't fight when wounded. If you get to "injured" it's time to be thinking of an exit strategy. :)

personally Id say the most important bit of 'kit' when adventuring is a Cleric :P

It is a well known fact that the optimal party is a group of two or more clerics of opposing faiths working side by side.

Oh, right, advice.

Never run through a transition to answer a party member's calls for help. :x

Good advice. I always think of it like this. If you are lvl4 fighter going into a fight injured (1/2 hp), you are really a level 2 fighter. So, should you be attacking what you are attacking at lvl2?

I still have my original NWN2 PC.. my first one. *ducks for cover from DM 10d6 lightning bolt*

Don't listen to this guy - he's Australian.

You still have the same attack bonus and gear, which a level 2 wouldn't have. So go charging in that battle to slay something in Tempus's name.

Oh Come now Grull at Half HP would still have charged an Ancient Red Dragon in the name of Tempus  ...Then he'd have dropped his trousers broke wind and watched said Dragon reel away :eew:
