Changing caster levels on spell casting items.

So... I want to change a caster level on a 1 use per day item.

the spell can be added easily enough but the caster level seems fixed.

As an example... magic missle has options for caster lvl 1, 3, 5, 9.

What if i want Magic missle, caster level 7? Can it be done?

Thanks smart people.

Easily, though not until next hak update.

Caster level 7 magic missile already exists as an item property, AFAIK.

I created it for a wand a few months (years?) ago, unless someone removed it.

It was a hypothetical example. Allthough it was missing from memory.

Is that planned for 1.88? The "pick any level" thing, whether selectable in toolset, or done by a workaround like cleverly tagging items to respect a scheme? (Something Zelknolf introduced near end of NWN1)

I know it's not possible now... you're stuck with "whatever versions the toolset presents." So if Rumple tooling something right now, what you see is what you get.

I would file this one under the "no one really understands exactly how much work it is to do what tech does" category.

It's possible to make that change, yes, but we haven't done it in NWN2 because it was a 60 hour project in NWN1, and like two people used it. And one of them was Rusty. That's a gut punch to morale right there, and I'm much more likely to throw work into other kinds of hooks first and haven't slated anything like that for any specific release.
