Noob Question

Post by ElCadaver »

Hi All,
I can't seem to find the sittable chair models in the toolset mod (the TSM base mod).

Also, is there a placeable to make other things sittable?. I want to use the benches on top of the house placeable as bench seats

Well I only have experience creating sittable things with old Exodus, but I presume ALFA uses the same method, so here:

Sittability of a placeable is a script you trigger upon acting with a placeable. (In game you trigger the action of the chair to sit, just like you would open a chest.) The placeable must be walk-through (so the PC can go on top of it), and it must have a positive hitpoint total (for whatever reason). You can put these on any placeable. The trick is to have the placeable have a sittable level at the height to which the PC squats with the sitting animation, so that it doesn't look totally off.

So if you have a house placeable with walkmesh on top of it, complete with what looks like benches, you do need separate placeables placed there to sit on. Not sure how hard that would be on the toolset. Odds are that a PC can't walk to the benches that are part of the house placeable, because the house has wiremesh on. So you have to place another bench placeables to the walkmesh area on top of the house, perhaps you can make this look like "deep" benches, sittable benches next to house-benches, with PCs sitting on edge. Setting the house placeable sittable would demand it be walk-through, and then the PC would proceed to the middle of it and squat.

You can also create a blueprint out of a existing sittable chair, and save it locally for your toolsetting needs. Check what placeable-on-used script ALFA uses by examining an existing sittable chair.

A ha at last I get to help someone else for a change!

You need to add the Kemo chairs to your toolset:

Save the erfs and import into your module. When you search blueprints for "chair" or "bench" they will pop right up in their own section and work great.

(actually maybe this doesn't answer your question after all...)
