Noob walkmesh question

OK, using the walkmesh cutter, I can make it so no one walks on the area I enclose, but how do I do the opposite, make an area people can walk on?

That's a tricky question to answer.

First, hit the Walkmesh button on your main toolbar and you should see a yellow-bordered mesh. Then hit the Baked button to see where the area is currently walkable. Anywhere the mesh is light you can walk, anywhere it is dark you can't.

Now if you want to make somehwere walkable there are 2 options. 1st, if it's unwalkable due to terrain height (it's just too steep), then de-select the baked button, grab the smooth or lower brush, and watch the walkmesh change as you lower the slope.

Or, if it's not a slope but simply an area made unwalkable, select the Walkable brush and quite literally paint the walkmesh down.

I've heard some mention of a "walkmesh helper" placeable... but I've never seen one in action nor do I know where/how to find one. I'd imagined it being some kind of complement/opposite to the walkmesh cutter.

Does such a thing exist, and if so, might it be helpful for this? I'm thinking here about arched bridges, which in my (extremely) limited testing, I've never been able to make walkable.

Also, if you are trying to make a placeable walkable, there is a section in properties of a placeable for a walkable/unwalkable option. Make surre it is tagged as walkable.

There is, indeed, such a thing. It's a fixed-size placeable, so you have to scale it by the numbers, and will be flat, I think.

Seem to remember something about this being counterintuitive- walkable meaning you can walk straight through it, while un-walkable means it must be walked "over" or around. Or am I thinking of something else in that regard?

Is it in the standard placeable resources? If so, where is it to be found? A casual search I made for it the other night came up short. Thanks...

walkmesh helpers are there
They're in the trigger section of the toolset, but there's only flat ones in the toolset.
If you want ramped ones, you need to go to the NWN2 vault http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NW ... tail&id=27 you can find them.
I think you will need them when you want invisible bridges..

If help is needed on this, let me know
