I just lost everything I've worked on for two weeks, and its backups. And the module Indio sent me to work from. And all the modules I've tested things in.
Every single module in my module directory just vanished.
I was working in my LadyCollege module and hit "Bake Current Area". In the middle of the bake I got an error message I'd never seen. Something several lines long that I can't recall clearly, but the gist of it was that NWN2 cannot do this. The only word I remember because it stood out so strangely was "cream". I swear. And then the toolset shut itself down and when I went to reopen, all my modules were gone, leaving only the Temp 0 with nothing in it.
I'm disappointed, to say the least. Can anybody shed any light on this disaster?

I'm really sorry to hear it Wynna. I've never encountered that but I've heard a lot of people complain about it on the nwn2 forums. It sounds a lot like what happened to Aelred.
Was your whole module directory wiped or just .mod files and folders in it?
The only thing I'd recommend is what I suggested to Aelred, which is to first check the recycle bin (assuming it's enabled) and if nothing's there, to try a file recovery/undelete program. I've gotten mixed results with "undeleting" but the sooner you do it, the better the results will be. There are a bunch of programs available if you google "undelete", but none that I can recommend unfortunately.

OMG - horrible dejavu there - Im so sorry Wynna! Thats sucks to no end!
At least when I lost was only the Waterdeep mod (that I had woked on for 100+ hours)...my other mods and mod directories were still there.
I tried Ciphers suggestion right away to no avail... since the mod was never "deleted" there was no way to recover it - it was like it was simply wiped from the harddrive.
I also tried the windows system recovery...only to quickly realize that Windows doesn't save system backups of anything in the My Documents folder.
Here is the thread with my drama in it:
http://www.alandfaraway.org/phpbbforum/ ... hp?t=36471
Now I burn backups on a dvd. Thangs also recommended to always save the mod with a new name.
I couldnt face touching the toolset for a month after the mishap. And now when I bake it is stressful as all heck.
Hang in there Wynna! I know that losing all your creative work like that is truly crushing emotionally.

aaargh not again..
hang in there wynna.. this has happened to me twice.
The module name is just gone?.. along with all the work you've put in? The second time it happened I was rescued because I save under a different version name everytime I save now.. even if I changed very little over the course of a half hour.
the first time nearly made me quit building in nwn2 all together as I lost so much work..
take some small comfort in the knowledge that you'll build your areas 10x better and 2-3 times quicker the second time around...
