weapon request

Not too long ago I brought up a question about quarterstaves as double weapons, and somebody came up with a solution regarding a slight scripting change for the weapon. I can't recall who that person was because the thread got archived somewhere. I was also informed that doing such would require a whole change to a file that is pretty tough to make. The idea of making a quarterstaff with a user activation tied into it to switch the staff between a two handed and double weapon was then proposed to me. Does anyone know how to toolset or script such an item? And just to clarify, the base item must be a quarterstaff. Thanks to any who think about it.

The 2da change to make quarterstaves available as double weapons was added last update. However, for whatever reason, it currently gives both attacks at full +AB (instead of the correct -4/-8 for light offhand weapon). Until we can work out how this can be fixed, you won't be seeing any double-quarterstaves ingame.

Quarterstaves as double weapons is something I've wanted since my first days of playing NWN1.
But isn't it true, NWN2 doesn't have double weapons in it at all?
I can understand scripting a quarterstaff to work as a double weapon in NWN1, since they have the core functionality for 2-bladed swords, double axes etc., but I figured it was impossible in NWN2 - there's no animations, no base types, nothing.
Or is it as simple as adding extra attacks?

My fault.
Forwarded AL the changes, but it looks like they were either sloppy or double weapons are bugged entirely.

Well Apparently there are double weapons, but the attacks for those weapons don't suffer the two weapon penalty. If the tech team ends up picking it apart and having to fix several weapons (which of course I hope they dont have to) is there any way that we could toss in a few additional weapons that could also be double weapons in combat? For example, spears and halberds would be way more effective double weapons than axes and swords and flails. I think the only problem would lie in making the off hand attack a 1d6 bludgeoning one.
Keep in mind that I'm not trying to swamp you guys with work, just adding something worth considering if you do have to rebuild the double weapon system.

Shouldn't this be a technical thread in the technical forum?

Done.
And since it was originally in the Silver Marches forum, as one of the moderators i request we keep this a productive thread, and not a cab ride with Zoolander. Thanks.
