VFX Tester

Post by Wynna »

I wrote a script that controls a VFX Testing Wand. Target an object in game and you'll get a dialogue asking which VFX you want to start with. I've numbered the VFX in toolset alphabetically. There are 834. Choose your starting number and the next ten VFX will test themselves out for five seconds each in order on the target, announcing their names as they do so. You've got to take a stab at the number of the effect you want to start with, but you get pretty familiar pretty quickly.

Lots of VFX don't work on some objects, so this is a good way to not only see what they look like, but see what's functional on your object.

If anybody wants it, it's a simple erf containing one script (i_slv_vfx_test_ac) and one item DM Tools/VFX Testing Wand.
Enjoy the game

Cool. If someone would be willing to take the time to aggregate the results of this testing and compile it into a readable wiki article, this would be a useful reference document for developers, builders, and DMs.
