Playing in Caer Callidyrr and Skaug?

Hi all,

I'm new to the islands and recently started playing in CD's campaign, which is lots of fun (thanks CD).

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone thinks it's feasible to play on CD's campaign and RP in Skaug as well, the travel time being so long between Caer Callidyrr and Skaug. Can there be so much time between the major events of each session to account for the travel time? If not, can I justify taking the liberty of ignoring this inconvenience in the name of RPing good times?

What say you all?

Go wherever the game is, with a least a cursory IC nod to the distance involved. Players flit between those locations, and farther (server hops), constantly. Personally, I wouldn't (and don't) worry about it.

We say go for it.

Word From Above says the travelling time is about a week, but we're all on cartoon time anyway. And for many PCs, Skaug or the Caers alone just doesn't suffice.
Besides, DM-love is precious. Get it while you can, where you can.

cartoon time. go for it. this is why you rarely see references to dates in people's RP.

never been a fan of the 24/7 PW...my RL is too difficult as it is...not sure I could handle 2 lives.

Honestly, if all you can play is on Sunday, I say do both.

I rest players and I port players because I am a reasonable DM. In my past experience waiting for players to get to my events usually resulted in lots of grumpiness both from the players that DID arrive on time and the ones halfway across Silverymoon because they only could log on RIGHT when we started.

If a friend called me from across town and said they were late for a tabletop game or needed a ride, i would arrange it right?

Thanks for the replies. Now I think I'll go and look for goblin heads on skaug or something. 8)

^ that is the only issue, make sure to not run around RPing ooh I'll just pop to skaug to go shopping and BRB. So you should as always RP the distance, which I know our players do.
