Posting from a friend's computer, which might give you an idea whats up.

As you know I've had overheating problems with my laptop (my only gaming rig atm) the past few sessions. I took it apart and cleaned what little dust was on the heatsinks as trid suggested and hoped that would help. I started up today, started nwn2 and then literally a puff of smoke came out the side vent, and my laptop shut down and wouldn't start back up.

Taking it in tomorrow to see what it's going to cost me to fix it.

Vendrin, that aint good bud,

what parts did you remove when you did the clean? if its psu then you will need to have reapplied silve grease to the proc. Hope my suggestion hasnt left you with a broken pc...

Yea I put on a layer of artic silver to the processor as I had read the stuff asus puts on there isn't top quality. Anyways, took it in yesterday they will have an estimate for me soon.

hopefully its nothing to serious. However the dust issue is serious anyway with laptops. My Acer Inspire that saw me through Uni had a major dust issue so much so that it just would shut down and not start up again, i removed the cover and took off the heatsink and it had a think almost slime layer of dust!!! reset it and it has worked fine since...

Also due to some ic talking yesterday that resulted in a player logging out, can we please make dice rolls on controversial issues (like coin split, leadership etc).

Simply make a dice roll on diplomacy or bluff in situations of tension and I will judge the outcome. Note the other character should roll bluff or diplomacy to get their point accross to.
